A really strong first episode of Seven Seconds here. Perfect? Of course not, but we got introduced to very dark and believable characters here. As a New Jersey resident who works in NYC I can relate to the dialogue, accent and tone of these individuals.

Regina King is always great and while this episode didn't completely showcase her skills, I am sure we will get more down the road.

The idea of a drunken lawyer getting redemption through this case is a little played out, but I am willing to give it a chance.\

This show hooked me in, now they need to keep it going.

Seven Seconds (2018) Pilot

"Inspired by the original Russian feature film by Yury Bykov."

We begin all of our reviews at 8- stars.

We're not sure why this episode is called Seven Seconds. The story certainly unfolds at a snail's pace.

The kid Brenton must have been pedaling pretty fast in order to have "come out of nowhere" and not seen by Peter, the driver.

At 48:33- KJ spots the witness statement report but at 49:41- when she picks it up it is a different sized paper with one corner torn off.

Stunning First Episode
Hitchcoc23 July 2023
Everything is in place after this episode. We know each of the significant characters. We know it happened in the wake of Ferguson and that the police are pretty skittish. We know the victim has a bit of a history in the projects and may have been influenced by friends in the gangs (just a guess). We have a guilt ridden young man, the perpetrator, who is being kept quiet by his superiors. We also have a couple of interesting characters, an attorney who is dealing with past addiction, and a harsh investigator who runs off at the mouth. There is tension from beginning to end in this first episode and it appears to be worth hanging in there. Acting is very good.

Seven Seconds (2018)

Series

1st Season

Episode 1 - Pilot

This is the third series I've watched on this profile and I saw a lot of people saying that the series is slow and that the length of each episode is long, for me it flowed so well, maybe because I prefer character developments, conversations between them rather than resolving everything right away, maybe that's why I thought this first episode was really good, unlike other people.

This first episode is awesome

Previous Series: Falcão e o Soldado Invernal (2021)

Episode one of the first season of Seven Seconds watched on April 29, 2024.

Awesome

Warning: Spoilers
Starting my fifth miniseries marathon and as I watch I'm also doing an amateur critique. What a wonderful pilot episode, it leaves us intrigued with the case right from the start. First, it leaves a suspense as to who the victim is as there was a girl at the school door looking for her brother who had to leave on a bicycle, but then it is revealed that this boy is safe and in fact Brandon (the victim) is son of the teacher who helped the girl find her brother. The coincidences are surreal. I thought the episode flowed very well, an hour passed quickly. You can already know what each character is like and how they act at a critical moment. Episode one watched on March 13, 2024.
