There are beautiful shots of city and its monuments, but for me too many of historical errors
Some of them:
Episode 1: Yes Ottokar was main Rudolph's rival. Yes, he attacked him from north. But Montefiore forgot mention fact, that Ottokar was ruler of Austria and Rudolph stole him this county before Ottokar's attack. And what do you mean with faced with defeat, the Boheminas murdered their own king"????? It seems that Montefiore did not read any book about the Ottokar and the battle.
Episode 1, 00:10:43 63 of John Parricida's relatives beheaded" ??? John was an orphan, he has no relatives out of Habsburg and Premyslides families and there was no executions in both families.
Episode 1, 00:12:05 Prince electors who chose both the Gernan king and the emperor" So, elector chose roman kings, you are right. But on emperor coronation in Rome they have no influence, it depended on wish of already elected roman king and the the approbation of Pope.
Episode 1, 00:13:55 Charles the Sixth, King of Bohemia? Really? Some chaos in numbers, Charles VI. was Roman Emperor in 18th Century
Episode 1, 00:19:00 Albert allied himself with the Bohemian warlord" At first – George of Podebrad was not some warlord" but Czech king. And second – he supported not Albert but Friedrich III. and so he did not assisted Albert in siege of Hofburg but opposite it was George who liberated Friedrich from besieged Vienna castle and assisted in negotiations between Albert, Friedrich and Pope.
Episode 1 circa 00:25:00 - The marriage of Ferdinand and Anna of Jagiello did not mean that he inherit thrones of Bohemia and Hungaria. It was some claim to the thrones, but not so sure, both was elective kingdoms and there were other candidates to this thrones so it could happen that Czech nobility choose for their king Saxon or Brandenburg elector or king of Poland.
