Distastefully dull

Having just watched Episode #1.1, I'm filled with regret.

Half the show consists of women objectifying one of the male guests, while squealing, giggling and cackling. And the other half consisted of a purposely black-centric quiz show, the kind that would never be allowed to air if it were white-centric.

And perhaps its biggest failing was the simple lack of humour.

It needs humour

All the talents there, but it ain't funny.

If it wasn't for Reginald D Hunter and Russell Kane ( token white guy, lol ) would not have watched the whole episode.

Better than alot of recent UK comedy 'quiz' shows, but obvs triggering some

Much better than many of the plethora of comedy quiz/panel shows that UK domestic channels are churning out at the moment. Funny, interesting and informative and showcasing new and-not-seen-enough 'black' comics, as well as other minoritised and/or ally talent. Host Jimmy Akingbola is relaxing into his role and the two team captains Chizzy and Judi do a great job. Entertaining and educational both on history and cultures, but this unsurprisingly is triggering to a certain type of viewer. Ignore biased overly negative reviews and try it if you're up for a giggle and maybe a bit of a politics or history nerd of any shade.

Refreshing to see!

It's got humour and history. During Black History Month it's amazing to learn all this history we don't normally get to hear about, and I wish that wasn't the case.. The humour, personalities and history is great. Definitely recommend.

This review has apparently been approved but it has not been published for more than 3 weeks - this seems to happen to reviews for 'black' programmes, yet when I review non-political or 'white' programmes the reviews appear almost immediately (interesting, and somewhat reflective of snowflakey responses of a certain type of audience member who is triggered by broadening cultural and historical understanding)

As far as socially distanced panel shows go... this is the best yet. Team captains are HILARIOUS! Learning so much about black history and laughing along the way. Great show!

Great show, host, and team leaders. Judi being my fav! Grt theme music. Enjoyed all the jokes, learnt lots I didn't know, want it as a regular tv show, not just for B.H.M
