Black Pumas perform a live acoustic set in WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. Lead guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada was unable to join us due to a travel delay, but we were in great hands with vocalist/guitarist, Eric Burton. Quesada and Burton met each other in Austin, TX through a mutual friend who heard Burton busking in downtown Austin. The two musicians eventually connected and released their self-titled debut album in June 2019.

Of Monsters and Men perform a live acoustic set in WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. Nanna, Ragnar and Arnar stopped by our studio to perform stripped-down versions for the first time of three new songs (Alligator, Róróró, Ahay) from 2019's Fever Dream. The album's first single, Alligator, reached the top of Billboard's charts in August 2019.

Tessa Violet performs a live acoustic set in WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. Tessa began writing songs after a friend left his guitar in her car when she was 23. She learned the chords to her favorite songs and before long began writing original songs. Tessa is originally from Ashland, Oregon and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Calexico and Iron and Wine perform a live acoustic set in WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio. Sam Beam and Joey Burns played stripped-down versions of three new songs ("Follow the Water," "Father Mountain," and "Years to Burn") and "He Lays In The Reins" from their first collaboration back in 2005 (In The Reins). Their most recent collaboration, Years to Burn, was released in June 2019 to critical acclaim.

Welsh musician Gruff Rhys performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. His music career spans several decades and projects, including Super Furry Animals and Gorillaz. In the studio, Rhys plays songs from his latest solo album Pang!, a worldly collaboration with South African electronic artist Muzi that uses music to connect us beyond the barriers of language.

Chicago-based Ohmme performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. Both Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart are classically trained musicians and established players in the Chicago music scene. They're constant collaborators and have recorded and toured with acts as varied as Tweedy, Whitney, Chance the Rapper and Twin Peaks.

Boston-based The Ballroom Thieves perform live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio. The band, including members Calin "Callie" Peters (vocals, cello, bass), Martin Earley (vocals, guitar), and Devin Mauch (vocals, percussion), just released their third full-length album, Unlovely, on February 14, 2020, and play a couple of new songs from the album.

Singer-songwriter Juliana Hatfield performs live at our Fraser Performance Studio. Her career began in the early in the 80s when she formed the Blake Babies with drummer Frida Boner and guitarist John Strohm. Later, she joined The Lemonheads, playing bass on their hit album It's A Shame About Ray. Her solo career began with the release of Hey Babe, but it was her second album Become What You Are that put her on the fast track to super-stardom. Hatfield has been more than prolific since then, releasing several albums, including the two critically-acclaimed cover records - Juliana Hatfield Sings Olivia Newton-John, and Juliana Hatfield Sings The Police.

Lankum performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. The Dublin-based group, consisting of Cormac MacDiarmada, Radie Peat, and brothers Ian and Daragh Lynch, makes a special kind of Celtic folk music, mixing ambient textures with harmonies that harness astonishing power. In 2019, their album The Livelong Day won Album of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Awards.

Lonr. performs an acoustic set at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio in Boston. Lonr. moved from Los Angeles to Cape Cod as a kid and, as a result, felt out of place. He entrenched himself in beat-making, creating a universe of his own in music. Inspired by the likes of Pharrell, OutKast, and Tyler, The Creator, as well as film scores for Star Wars and Interstellar, he developed his production and songwriting talents. By 2019, he found himself up for multiple Grammy Awards for his contributions to H.E.R's discography, winning two.

Aoife O'Donovan performs live at WGBH's Fraser Performance Studio. Joined by a string quartet, the Irish-American singer and songwriter present a collection of new work from her 2020 EP Bull Frogs Croon (and Other Songs.) O'Donovan is also known for her work with the bluegrass band Crooked Still, and the female folk group I'm With Her who won a Grammy Award this year.
