Charles Manson: The Man Who Killed the Sixties (2015)

*** (out of 4)

If you're unfamiliar with the 1960's and the bizarre Charles Manson then you'll enjoy this documentary that takes a look at the terror he caused and why many think he killed off the hippie culture, which was gaining popularity before he and his family went on a killing spree.

Clocking in at just over fifty-minutes this documentary features interviews with prosecutors Vincent Bugliosi and Steven Kay as well as family members Bruce Davis and Sandra Good and even Anita Hoffman. If you're already familiar with the Manson case then there's really nothing here that's going to be new to you but the case itself is just so fascinating that it's hard to make any bad documentary on it. The interviews here are quite entertaining and the documentary does a nice job at going through the details of what made Manson so crazy and why he really did end the 60s on such a crazy note.
