This is the best episode from the first series of the fledgling sitcom 'Speechless' so far for me.
The reason for that is because this episode more than any other really seems totake its time fleshing out the characters, and it works very well.
For the first time it didn't feel like the character played by John Ross Bowie was in the shadow of the one played by Minnie Driver, and there was more to him than just an easy-going dad.
I liked that J. J had a bit of a rebellious streak here too, and what 'Speechless' is doing very well is showing a child with severe learning difficulties trying to live a normal life.
