Remembrance starts off with one of the most visual scenes I can remember from Silent Witness, the powerful image of the girl floating down the river, stayed with me for some time. Unfortunately nothing else from this one did, rewatching it now for the first time since its original transmission, it's one of the few stories I can say I didn't really care for. Somehow this episode is disjointed, it feels cobbled together, some aspects of the story make no sense, nor do the motives of the characters.
I didn't particularly care for Sarah Smart's character or performance, she's normally very good, I just didn't feel convinced by her grieving mother character. Nobody really shines through, credit for the ending though, that at least added a much needed moment of drama. Right now I can't even remember part two, or any details, but hopefully it's a bit better then this one.
Average at best.
