This completely and utterly gets New Zealand and Maori culture wrong!
First off the "Maori" character has a South African accent, second the Haka is not a dance, third Maori do NOT wear masks at any time especially with a wagging tounge and googly eyes that roll around!
The whole thing was incorrect and offensive, I let my kids watch this show as I thought it would help them learn about other cultures but it shows the writers did zero research! Absolute rubbish

The writers of this episode have clearly given up on their jobs and are just there for the pay check. I almost think they did it on purpose, other kids shows usually only screw up the accent and/or pronunciation of maaori words or are only like a little bit offensive but this episode is something else.
This episode is culturally inaccurate

My niece really loves this series, but this episode, in particular, is so WRONG. I found this episode to be quite offensive to the Maori culture and New Zealanders. The dance, the accent and the costumes made me think the producers were making a joke of a culture that prides them self on the Haka. Disappointed.
Gross representation of Maori culture

This episode was not only clearly made by people who have never stepped foot on NZ soil but horrendously offensive! The Haka is a beautiful Taonga that should not be used as a light hearted joke "dance" and using a harsh South African accent for the Maori character was awful! So so so bad!
