The last 5 minutes or so of this episode are really the only reason that I am giving this an 8/10.
I absolutely died laughing when Brennan was talking to Fisher about him writing the fan fiction about her novels. I think it is so amazing and hilarious and he was mortified and it was just brilliant. I don't even care about whether it is realistic for the publisher to send Brennan fan fiction about her novels. The fact that Fisher writer fan fic about an intern sleeping with Brennan (or I suppose Kathy) was simply amazing.
We also had a fun scene between Booth and Brennan about how young is too young for Christine to hear Brennan's books. This scene got me wondering whether Brennan and Booth talk about their work in front of her. As daughter of someone in law enforcement I know that there is a lot of different comfort levels about sharing about the job. Some people feel like they have to talk about their jobs with their family in order to process their days and others feel like it's better if their families aren't aware of the horrors in the world. I feel like Brennan would probably want to talk about these things in front of their kids where Booth wouldn't think it's appropriate. On a side note, I would kill to hear Brennan's "tasteful" retelling of the evil step sisters getting their eyes pecked out.
Overall the case was kinda blah, we have seen a story line like this before (season 4 the bones the blew, a bodyguard of a rich family is murdered by the girl because he threatens to tell the school she is cheating). Also, why did that mom just let the kid confess to murder? And, was that legal for Brennan to shine the flash light on the bike to look for blood? I know it was in an open area but it's still private property and I think a warrant may have been necessary.
Best part: Aubrey standing up to his dad and saying that he is the man he is despite his father
Worst part: Brennan's voice recording for the audiobook.
