Your typical German crime

Warning: Spoilers
"Dunkle Fährte" from the tv series "Die Füchsin" tells the story of a middle-aged woman, who lives a quite lonely life in Düsseldorf, hiding the fact that she once worked for the infamous Stasi agency in Eastern Germany. When a young man is kidnapped, she uses her methods in order to bring him back.

I like the general setup. It is interesting to have someone use skills that he once learned in a very sinister context in order to do good this time. Unfortunately the rest looks and feels more or less like yout average German crime movie. It is not bad, neither acted nor produced, but it is lacking something to really raise it above the hundreds of similar films that air on tv every night. This way what remains is a creative plot that carries a lot of potential but needs to be fed with some more extraordinary storytelling.

All in all this is a movie for your average tv evening. It is not a masterpiece, nor is it produced and carried out poorly. If the general story catches you, you can surely give it a try.
