Kill the Religious Organization" may have had the best opening of any episode of Akame ga Kill! Yet. Opening with Chelsea using her Imperial Arm to get close to a (ridiculously) corrupt government official then stab him in the neck, killing him. Chelsea then disguises herself just before the Jaegers arrived. Afterwards, we're treated to some entertaining dialogue between the members of Night Raid and to a slaughter of "evil" by Seryu.

The episode then moves on show some real progression with the story. Najenda speaks about the Path of Peace, a rapidly growing religion in the Empire, and that the capital has infiltrated the religion with plans to kill its' leader and replace him with an agent of the capital. Night Raid is interested in stopping this plan because the Path of Peace has many members that are angry with the capital and seem ready to rise up, which would be very useful for the Revolutionary army. Night Raid is given their mission, defend the leader of the Path of Peace and kill the capital agent that has infiltrated the religion. The Jaegers seem to be aware of this plan, but Night Raid seems to be aware that the Jaegers know, so the two groups realize that combat between them is inevitable.

The Jaegers receive a tip that Akame and Najenda have been seen, but that the two split off in different directions. Recognizing that they are probably being lured into a trap, the Jaegers still pursue the members of Night Raid, as they can't let the chance slip by. Bors, Kurome and Wave are sent as a team to follow Akame, and come upon a strange....scarecrow type thing in the middle of the road. While they are preoccupied by the strange scarecrow thing, Mine tries to shoot Kurome, but Kurome proves to have lightning reflexes and avoids the shot. Susanoo bursts out of the scarecrow and sends Wave flying far away, as Night Raid is targeting Kurome and Bors. While they initially seem vastly outmatched, Kurome shows that the Jaegers aren't easily outgunned and reveals her Imperial Arm, Yatsufusa, which is has the ability to return those killed by it as zombie servants. Night Raid prepares to fight Bors, Kurome and her creepy corpse puppets.

"Kill the Religious Organization" leaves me in a strange place. I feel like the last episode was probably more entertaining; however this episode was more satisfying, solely because it advanced the plot more than any episode in weeks. Much of the episode was spent informing the viewers about the Path of Peace, the status of the Revolutionary army and its allies, and showing that battle between the Night Raid and the Jaegers is nigh.
