One of the greatest episodes of Television I have ever seen!
TDKBestFilmEever19 March 2015
In just one episode The Flash has delivered so much action, drama, suspense, twists and shocks that shows such as The Walking Dead & Game of Thrones would be proud of. I thought it was the series finale at one point with just how much happens in one short episode.

This show is no TWD or GoT but I'm still a big fan of the programme. It has though, been fairly hit and miss. It took a bit of time to get going and the scripts have been silly too often but its always been fun, enjoyable and often funny with a tone of brilliant action set- pieces and effects.

This second half of Season 1 has really got things going and every episode has been entertaining and thrilling but never did I expect an episode like this.

I'm not going to spoil anything but the entire episode is genius and people that have doubted or hated on the show will be shocked at just how wrong they are and be blown away by the brilliance that The Flash has become.

Great episode had everything you need in less than 1 hour
milligan-mark24 March 2015
This episode had everything, great characters, action, twists and surprises. The quality of this show is the best on TV. Just fantastic it pulls you in and gives you a great ride. One of my favorite shows is the Arrow which I have watched from the very beginning which had great characters and interplay between all the leads and the makers of the Arrow have used the same brilliant formula to create the Flash. The story in this episode brought together some loose threads and answered some questions previous episodes were building up and the surprises! just watch and find out. I hope there is a second, third.. series. The link to the Arrow with the cross over episodes just make this DS Comic franchise just perfect.

By Far The Best Episode of The Flash
inserrtnamehere22 March 2015
The only regret I have when watching this episode is that I do not have the next one recorded and so I cannot immediately watch the next episode and find out what happens because I just need to freaking know what happens next.

This episode was phenomenal and revealed details to questions that viewers have had since the beginning of the season. In fact, so many major events happened during this one episode that I had to double check to make sure it was not the season finale.

It's a good thing that I have this episode recorded because I will be watching it over and over again. The show will have a hard time topping this episode.

The best episode yet!... maybe
Fluke_Skywalker13 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
For the first half nothing exceptional happens. It just sort of moves along casually, as if it's marking time.--Time. Huh.--Ahhh, but it's a deception! What it's actually doing is carefully setting up the blocks that it intends to knock down. Big, huge, major things happen in the second half. Each one topping the next. Characters are hurt, characters die, and identities are revealed. My arms are sore from picking my jaw up off of the floor. But, is it a cheat? You see, there's a time travel aspect to this episode and by the end you're left wondering if any of it will actually happen. Or did happen... I dunno, I should've paid more attention in physics.

If all of this is eventually wiped out in the next episode I am going to retroactively downgrade this one point. But regardless, this was still an exceptionally compelling slice of television, and perhaps the best episode yet depending on the outcome.

Some Would Say I'm The Reverse
ThomasDrufke17 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Well it's been a full month but Flash is back. And hopefully there wont be anymore breaks until the finale. Especially because tonight's episode was great. But it also felt like this would have been a great place to leave off before a long break considering how big of a cliffhanger it was. With that being said I think the episode did a whole lot of things right but of course, had quite a few frustrating things as well.

First off, Iris is an incredibly hard character to like. I don't care how much you dislike your friends girlfriend/how jealous you are, you can't act like a two year old around him. Being touchy-feely around someone like that is just immature. It's not that I really like Barry's new girlfriend, but Iris is a much weaker character. I was very disappointed they went the cheesy route of confessing your true feelings right before a possible death, and then in turn revealing your powers in front of her. But who knows, time travel may play a big part in that story. Is Barry the only one who knows that he went back in time? I would guess that everyone just feels a bit of deja vu. It would be interesting if these time travel elements play into the spin off show which is rumored to star Boostergold, a time traveling superhero.

Eddie returned this week after a few episodes of being completely left out of the mix. His character is starting to grow on me especially now that he is giving Iris a hard time, like all of us should be. Tonight also saw the return of the Mardon brothers. This time it was Mark Mardon wreaking havoc and seeking to avenge his brothers death. I thought he was a solid villain and I enjoyed his subplot with Joe. But it was definitely overshadowed by the Well's storyline. Speaking of that, it seems as if a lot had been settled tonight before Barry traveled back in time. Wells did indeed kill Barry's mom, but I guess he's not technically Wells anymore, he's now Eobard Thawne. Even though I knew there was more to his character, I was actually somewhat surprised they actually went that route. I think it was one of the hundred theories that were thrown out there, and I just hadn't thought about it in awhile. I did like the exact story route they went with his character although it raises so many more questions.

Cisco played a huge part in this episode and if it weren't for the fact that we know time travel will play a huge part in the rest of the season, I would have felt more during his death. But it was perhaps the best Wells-Cisco scene all season.

+Reveals raise more question

+Eobard

+Time travel

+Mardon was a solid villain

-Iris

No doubt the best episode of the first season! Warning: Spoilers
Now, before I begin this review, I only saw the first four episodes of The Flash online because I was extremely busy trying to catch up with "The Arrow", another superhero show, in it's third season and as I would try to watch the new episode of that show tonight, I might as well try to catch up with The Flash as well.

Now, this episode did surprised me at the latest. The writing is really good and the story is great. Not only does it connect to the first episode, but the previous episodes as well it does explained as Barry's fate and other secrets as well. I won't give much away since I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The pacing is brisk and serves some very effective moments. Not to mention the action sequences that were handled perfectly.

The acting so far is also great. As with Barry, Iris, Dr. Caitlin, Eddie, and Dr. Harrison Wells still being likable so far, the relationship between Barry and Iris shines. However, (and forgive me for spoiling a scene), the part where Barry revealed his identity to her felt kind of cheesy.

Overall, The Flash: Out of Time is an excellent episode and no doubt the best episode in the first season so far. Recommended! :)

Lots of surprise
mabdulrahim20 March 2015
This is one of the best episodes in this series. There were lots of tracks handled till this episode independently. Like what is the background of Dr.Wells, the hidden romance between Barry and Iris etc.Everyone has some doubts about who is the reverse flash. All these converged into this one episode and has paved way for the all the future episodes. There are a few good shockers and surprises in this episode. Let me not reveal anything to those who are yet to watch this episode. Looks like its going to be a fun ride for the upcoming episodes.Definitely this series is picking up its pace like how Barry learns to increase his speed.Looking forward to it.

Best Episode till now. Don't believe how far they are going just in the first season.
David-Bernhardt18 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not gone tell you all of the things that happened, and make a boring List, but instead encourage you to watch it yourself.

So if you have already watched it continue reading.

So, first of all the Brother of the Weather Guy from Episode 1 appears, and makes a pretty good Villain for this Episode. He becomes a so big threat to the Flash by kidnapping Joe that Barry Allen even reveals himself to Iris as the Flash in the action of the Moment.

Sad but also very interesting is that Harrison Wells (aka. Eobard Thawne from the Future that wants to go back into his time by using the Speed of the Flash) killed Sisko because he found out everything about him. And he reveled himself kind of to Kaitlin by leaving the Cafe (and especially his Weelchair)

So Harrison Wells doesn't cares about anything anymore, maybe because he knows that the Flash is now capable of time travel, (already). Because Barry told him, that he saw himself, while running.

While creating a wind wall to protect the city from the Tsunami in the end, the Flash runs so fast that he jumps back in time. This opens up many new possibilities. It could play out the same way but he would maybe be able to rescue Sisko, or he stops the weather Wizard from kidnapping Joe and dint reveal himself to Iris.

Probably he will rescue Sisko, in some way. Because I din't belief that Sisko is just gone forever, at least it would be very sad and something would be missing.

So stay exited as I am. And just wait one Week (Instead of 3 Weeks) to the next episode.

ps: (Imagine what is possible with such a Story, which they have now created.)

Gorilla Grod, Reverse Flash (aka. Eobard Thawne), Time Travel and much much more...

The Flash's masterpiece episode
prometheus198709 June 2021
This episode is the best of all the Flash episode. I'm giving this review after watching season 7. The plotline is absolutely amazing. The anticlimactic scene with Mark Mardon unleashing the flood was epic. If episodes had the same quality as this now, the flash would be much much better. It doesn't get better than this.

The Best Episode Of Anything Ever
arjansidhu30 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Finally we get to know more about mysterious Harrison Wells, what we wanted to know for a long 14 episodes. This is the best episode of anything ever, better than any episode of anything or any movie about anything.

It makes the obvious finally clear that Wells isn't who the team thought he was. It finally introduces the Flash's time travel ability into the show. The Flash is getting faster and faster like in the comics, and maybe soon the Flash would be able to travel at trans-time velocity (meaning he can be at anywhere in anytime of the world whenever he wants) like in one issue of the Flash. This is getting closer to admitting that The Flash is indeed the most powerful superhero in any comic book universe. EVER

Not What He Seems
SpoodermanDerp18 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS BELOW* "Out of Time" is easily one of the best episodes the show has delivered to us. The title of this review (taken from another show which hopefully some people know as well) is not enough to state and describe all the things that went down in such an entertaining and intense episode.

The episode kicks off with a flashback and we find out that the villain in the Pilot (Clyde Mardon) has a brother who also turned out to be a meta-human as well. Although this time, he seeks revenge for the person who killed his brother, and that is non other than Detective West. At start it actually felt like it was going to be yet another generic flash episode, but boy we were actually in for A WHOLE LOT of stuff on the way. Let me start with the ONLY flaw in this episode and that happens to be none other than the forced relationship of Iris and Barry. It seems like the show doesn't know what the hell to do with them, in one episode it seems like they're moving away from each other, then in the next they come back in their normal status, then we meet Linda Park, and when all seems like it will all go smoothly, Iris just comes back to annoy and annoy and annoy. Okay we get it, Barry is never going to be out of Iris's life, but you have a boyfriend now and you should focus on him now. The show should also stop with these "coincidental" meetings of Barry and Iris because it's ANNOYING. So please, just figure out what you want to do with the 2 characters and make it final! Now that the thing I hated about this episode, let's overshadow it with the loads of excellent things that came from this episode. First of, the acting was superb coming from the whole cast and Cisco's performance was probably the best. His reaction on finding out that the man whom he trusted and considered as a father was actually not what he seemed really hits you especially when Harrison kills him. Second, TIME TRAVEL! Finally, this is what we've been waiting for, The Flash finally going back in time. Comic readers like me saw it coming, and audiences were probably shocked. The climax in this episode was also one of the best I have ever seen in TV, so much was happening, a heart breaking scene, Iris finding out Barry is the Flash, A massive tsunami heading for the city and The Flash going back in time! Each scene had me going to the very edge of my seat and I was so intrigued with each scene that I had to hold my urine. Third, the visuals looked great especially slow motion sequences, but the visuals in the scene wherein Weather Wizard was in the morgue were kinda substandard. Speaking of Weather Wizard, he was probably an okay villain for me even though he was kind of overshadowed because of the many things that happened in the episode. And finally. this episode will do a whole lot for upcoming The Flash episodes, because it introduced time travel and finally the reveal of Reverse Flash as Eobard Thawne, who also from the comics indeed came from the future. I'm happy to see The Flash improving their quality overtime and I'm really engaged into this show. Hopefully, judging from this episode, they'll do a whole lot more story lines from the comics that will please us fans and audience alike even more (ehem ehem flashpoint).

-Iris and Barry forced relationship is back, +Superb Acting (especially from Cisco), +An excellent and gripping climax, +Reverse Flash reveal, +TIME TRAVEL!, +Visuals (although substandard at times), +A game changer for the whole show.

Verdict: 9.7/10

One of the best pieces of television ever
trezeguet-13 August 2015
This is one of the greatest episodes I have ever seen... ever. It is truly mind-blowing how they manage to put so much in so little time (60 minutes). There are several major plot twists and in the end it all just "goes away" with a blink of an eye. All of the actors play their part really well, but it's the script that gets all of the points here. Be prepared to be blown away with something whose final minutes seem on par with masterpieces such as Game of Thrones' strongest episode "Rains of Castamere". It's an episode that puts a lot of pieces together, pieces from the grand puzzle which the season finale is going to be... I was wondering why this episode got such a big rating, now I know.

Finally
cherold7 June 2015
I really liked the first few episodes of The Flash, but then I began to become slightly weary of its villains-of-the-week, and only really kept with the story because I was curious about the mysteries of Wells and Barry's mom.

By last week, though, I was ready to give up. The story arc was proceeding too slowly, and I just couldn't wait anymore. So I went looking for recaps to find out how it all turned out.

However, what I found was that this episode was the one where things finally kick into high gear. It was the episode I'd been impatiently waiting for. And so I watched it, and it was great, very intense and original. The story arc took a big leap forward.

I hope there are more like this coming.

this was the best episode ever of the flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yehudakut7218 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
this episode had tense all over the place first-cisco figuring out that wells is the reverse flash Iris liking Barry Joe about to die the captain not walking wells kills cisco iris kisses Barry Barry stops the tsunami and last of all........the first preview of time travel!! the scene where Barry is at the corner with the dogs and the girl looking for a taxi happened,i was in total shock!! it was like holy crap! none of what i saw actually happens but also if no one realized that Barry doesn't know that wells is the reverse flash because only cisco figured out and wen Catiline called him before the tsunami she didn't tell him!! what I'm disappointed about is that i dint see any grodd yet like they left us in this tension of grodd killing the general Wayne that it was awesome!! i also hope we will see more of firestorm in the future because, even though it is a cheap rip of the human torch from marvel still its pretty cool what is also pretty cool about the episode is that we know that wells isn't wells but Eobard Thawne is a close relative (i cant say if brother because he is from the future so maybe son?) to Eddie , iris's boyfriend and that is a bit disappointing because before the episode with the reverse flash i didn't want wells to be the reverse flash because he was so nice and calm with everything it just sucks that it has to come to this i hope that the CW continues to make episodes like this in the future.

the end left me on the edge of my seat and i was screaming for more

PROS + ACTION +WELL'S SECRET REVEALED +TIME TRAVEL + WEATHER WIZARD +ACTING

Warning: Spoilers
What hasn't already been said about this episode?

The suspense, surprise factor, acting... Even the writing was good, which is a complete shocker because... well... The CW doesn't have reputable writers. This is a gold standard for the series, but unfortunately, this high was never again reached.

Really?
gcfromTheCity1 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Fascinating and suspenseful plot-but what brain-glitch caused the script-writers to include an utterly absurd kissing scene between Barry and Iris while her dad's life is on the line? That has to be one of the dumbest out-of-place actions of all time. The rest of the episode is compelling. But that romantic moment is laughable, not moving.

Out of Time
SpideyVerse2320 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was, to say in one word, awesome.

It starts off like a normal Flash episode, with Barry and Linda ending up going on a double date with Eddie and Iris, where Linda and Eddie both feel insecure seeing Barry and Iris together. This leads to something big in the end which I will not spoil.

Barry and Joe are going after Weather Wizard, brother of Clyde Mardon from first episode, who wants to kill Joe for shooting his brother.

Iris lets Barry know about her suspicions about Harrison Wells, who later asks Cisco and Caitlin about this.

Cisco starts to suspect Harrison Wells of being not a good guy, so he takes Caitlin's help and starts digging deeper.

This episode had everything you want from an episode and more with it feeling really big in scale and moving forward all plots with unexpected twists.

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Out of Time
lbramson10 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A lot happens in this highly praised episode so buckle up! Barry accidentally time travels to reverse Cisco's death, a tsunami that destroyed the city, David Singh being crippled, Joe getting kidnapped, etc. I said etc. Because I couldn't possibly list everything that happens in one short review! Episode 15 remains the highest rated Clash episode every and the majority considers it the best to this day! I can't disagree because this episode is amazing due to how risky this episode was with all the twists and turns. These writers have balls, that's for sure! Undoubtedly the best so far and will probably stay that way or at least the final Top 3. The ratings are correct as this is a 10/10!
