Nice woody acting
tamanes9 May 2015
I like this! I hope to see more of it! It is not about science; for example there is just gravity, and instantaneous contact between the Tasman and the Netherlands, but that is absolutely not the point. The point is portraying in an exaggerated way the somewhat woody behavior that Dutch people may manifest towards each other, and the series succeeds largely in this. (I happen to be Dutch myself). (Which also comes out handy to understand the series' language).

The thought how possibly this team of social disasters could have been selected is a funny thought.

I like the jokes and the acting is good. (Woody). (Like it should be).

Pure genialiteit

This series is so awkward and recognizable that is Great with a capital letter G.

The space is in space in a spaceship where the astronauts only have each other. And the astronauts are not very good at their job, but almost the whole world has drowned, so they are the best they could find. Only this setting is already perfect for the best jokes.

And some of them are literally doing nothing all day long. For example Harold, he is geologist. But he only does something when they explore a new planet, and you can guess it already; that does not happen to often.

All this together, including every characters weirdness and the brilliant acting makes it one of the best series I have ever watched.

I could say this series is so good, it is un-Dutch.

Can't wait for a potential third season!

completely crazy - genial

Obviously the series is "you love it or you hate it". It's probably not suitable for those who expect a pure SciFi-adventure, as to seen from some comments. It is rather a crazy office soap that works by reduction to an extreme separated surrounding (the spaceship) within kind of a minimalistic office interior, making fun of the stereotypes of nowadays office cultures. Just think about the coffee-corner with the high-tech coffee machine where everyone meets themselves again and again... the bord psychologist with his hollow phrases (who of us hasn't already heard this kind of empty talk in some personal development workshop?)... the standard rituals of application procedures with all the unnecessary procedures around it; the incompetent leader, the narcissistic idiot, everyone and everything is there. And just by regularly mixing this with SciFi elements the story gets this wonderful weired absurdity that makes it such a laughing matter. I simply love it. Intelligent humor, never boring and always a new surprise in the plot, and of course a lot of things you recognize from the Dutch culture. I wonder how long it lasts, I hope for long time.

Very funny dutch comedy
djmexxc17 January 2015
Mostely i am not into dutch comedy's because mainly there just not that funny.

I know now i was wrong after seeing missie aarde. I gave it a change just to be wright it would not be funny at all, but indeed i was wrong.

So many bad jokes that are so funny. it is shot in a style you see in many American series like the office and modern family etc And it works very well a dutch series that fits the time period were in.

The acting is sometimes weird but makes it more fun, different characters that add there joy to the series.

I am glad to see we can still make fun comedy series with at totally new genre.

From now on i will be watching this show hoping it will last a long time. But knowing when the majority of the viewers will not be watching it won't make it past 1 season, i hop it will but if it doesn't it will be very disappointing.

Because it is funny and has many laughs, i'm glad i gave it a change you will not regret watching it.

Embarrassingly Bad. Cringeworthy.

I like sci-fi, I don't mind wacky characters or strange ideas, but this is just awful.

I should admit that I only watched one episode, "Medwerker van de Maand" (Employee of the Month). I wanted to quit after 5 min. but forced myself to see it all.

The story is about 7 Dutch astronauts on a mission to find a habitable planet. Two of these astronauts seem to be normal people behaving fairly rationally, but the other five are extremely childish caricatures of people.

The captain, for example, has no authority at all. Nobody listens to him but he pretends not to notice.

The laws of science are completely ignored. I wouldn't mind that if it was at all funny, but it is not. In fact it was painfully embarrassing to watch.

Such a bore

I'm a great fan of science fiction and comedy. This doesn't have any of it. The science fiction part is that they're on a space ship. That's it. The comedy part is nowhere to be found. Jokes are silly and unoriginal.

According to the writers, this is supposed to be a version of "The Office" in space. Well, in one thing they have succeeded: the uncomfortable moments. Not out of vicarious shame towards one of the characters, but the writers and actors of this bland product.

If you're into sci-fi and comedy go check out Red Dwarf. But stay far away as possible from this.
