Season needs a fix.

The first six episodes are not we make of the big bang theory. The magic is somehow lost. Even Sheldon Cooper can't save the day. The opening two episodes were the worst, not only this season but may be worst episodes of the series. Writers seriously need to make something happen because the usual stuff is getting really old. Same characters quirks, nothing new added to the story is making it really slow and dull. May be introducing new characters like making Raj's girlfriend a regular or moving Sheldon and Amy's relationship forward can be done. I mean seriously, their relationship is going no where. And what is up with Penny's new hair-cut. Hope writers come up with something inserting in next few episodes.

I do get tired at times at Bernadette's cruelty. She has every right to be incredibly annoyed at Howard. But she puts him down in front of his friends and other public figures. I really can't see why they are a married couple. So this half was hard to watch. But I thought that the guys in the steam tunnel, trying to simulate a coal mine, was absolutely hilarious. I remember Johnny Cash singing that coal miner's song that Sheldon sings. It's about as depressing as anything and yet in this circumstance it's hilarious. And Raj explaining Hannah Montana to Sheldon is great. I'm disappointed at the ire being expended at this show. Yes, it is hit and miss, but each episode has at least a moment or two making it worth while.

"The Expedition Approximation" was another pretty funny ep of "The Big Bang Theory"

Warning: Spoilers
This ep of "The Big Bang Theory" in a nutshell: Penny got the company car so she sold the one Leonard gave her and is now giving him the money she made from it. Leonard can't accept and Penny won't accept it back. They eventually go to Howard and Bernadette for advice but they have their own money problems. Since Sheldon is now studying dark matter, he and Raj decide to go to a simulation mine to see how it feels trying to survive that environment. I'll stop there and just say this was another funny enough ep for this season. My favorite part was when Sheldon was singing a song that turns out to be a little depressing. He had a pretty good voice for it, too. Oh, and one never gets too tired of Howard and Bernadette's bickering even for something as childish as getting a star! So on that note, "The Expedition Approximation" was another pretty funny ep of "The Big Bang Theory".

Continues with the characters being mean, even cruel to each other
wd-823 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The writers really don't get it. Big Bang is not a true-life drama, it's COMEDY.

Pay attention: IT'S COMEDY.

Bernadette's cruel streak continues to be developed. NOT FUNNY.

Howard and Penny go back and forth 10 times over money. NOT FUNNY.

The final scene shows Raj's face in real anger and betrayal. NOT FUNNY.

So far, very little of Series 8 has been the wonderful comedy we love. Even series 7 (e.g. the Scavenger Hunt) has the friends at each other's throats for some or most of many episodes. NOT FUNNY.

Why, oh why, do the writers hate their characters and audience so much?

Don't waste your time! Its more precious then this.

There was a time when i liked this series, now i don't like it anymore. My friends were also once fans, but their interest has blown away with the last few seasons. With the writers failing to understand what their audience wants and the actors getting more payed for being part of something worse.

I never watch this show live, and i wouldn't think it would be worth the ads nowadays even. I find myself fast forwarding more and more, through the pointless argumentation's between boring characters and jokes that we've all heard before. Its like they got 50 set of jokes, and then they do some wordplay, to end up with 500.

Some characters don't even serve a purpose, as i get a feeling they dilute the more funny scenes with Sheldon, with the boring talks between the other characters. If you've seen this episode, imagine, we cut away the mine simulation scenes. They are not too funny, but its the funniest scenes in the episode. If we cut those away, there's nothing left, literally nothing. I badly wanted to laugh, but i didn't.

The story does progress through the seasons and I'm not sure if its for the better or worse. The underlying storyline isn't interesting, i mean, what will happen next, a new breakup? It doesn't matter anymore, the writers may not be better or worse then they were 5 years ago, but they are clearly not moving forward.

The biggest change this season so far, is Pennys hair and Sheldon's change of research field. I couldn't care less about the love- relations between the characters, as that was never really what the show was about in the first place. Now its all about that! Are they trying to appeal more to girls or what is this? Everyone i know, and yes, also females, believe the show was better before.

I believe that at some point the writers thought, oh, we need to change what the show is about, so that we can appeal to a wider audience. Well, just put it down, the series has been damaged and is never coming back in my eyes.

Im giving this one a 2 out of 10. Its a waste of time to watch this, they don't even succeed in making 22 minutes worth of good comedy.
