"One Shot" is a British (very British indeed given the accents) 6-minute live action short film from 2014, so this one has its 5th anniversary now in 2019. You will most likely not heard the names of any of the three cast members here or the name of writer and director Matthew J. Rowney when you consider seeing this little film. Judging from its imdb rating it seems most people did indeed like the watch. I must say it looked fairly amateurish to me early on in terms of the camera work, but yeah, it gets better as the film progresses. Sadly, it gets south quickly in other departments then that are at least as important, namely the writing or to be more precise: the plot with the blue-colored heart that eventually results in the one shot mentioned in the title. So yeah, I cannot say I enjoyed the watch very much. I think the best thing about this one is probably still the dialogue writing to be honest. What they had to say was not too bad, even if the delivery and also the acting did not go so well in my opinion as it becomes painfully obvious that the actors are not really capable of channeling their characters in the gravity of the situation to perform a contract kill, especially if it is the first. and pelase don't tell me the grinning was supposed to emphasize their uncertainty and nervousness resulting from the whole situation. Sadly, I must give this movie a thumbs-down. A bit of a shame as the general idea in terms of the story really wasn't that bad and I think with better attention to detail and a more gifted cast it could have been a rocksolid little movie. But not the way it turned out here. My suggestion is to skip the watch and go for something else instead.
