Best episode so far

Wow, the writers absolutely hit it out of the park with this one. I've been looking forward to Mr. Johnson's chance to shine, and the wait was very much worth it. I'm not familiar with Patrick Kerr as an actor outside of this show, but he clearly brought his A-game for this episode. Truly a bittersweet backstory with an ending that serves as both an excellent conclusion to his character arc this episode and will likely be significant to the overall lore of the show moving forward. So far, this season has been much stronger than the first season, and I can't wait to see where things go from here - especially if we get more of Mr. Johnson! (Note: I'm also really glad that Giorgio is in a relationship with Nat and seems to have stopped hounding Cass. That was really hampering my enjoyment of the show, and I hope things between them (or lack thereof) stay as they are now.)

Wow. This show is hitting its stride.

The thought of having a machine that tells you your potential is believable. The possibility of everyone in a small town getting carried away with believing what a machine tells them is a little far-fetched - but why not? That's what T. V drama is for. Making a compelling show based on the above was a tall order. So it is now no surprise to write what follows.

I hung on through season one because I liked the characters and thought the main premise of the show had potential. But, I was left thinking these people are just interacting but not in a believable, entertaining way.

Season 2 has changed my opinion of the show. It is now funny, bizarre and believable. Each scene leaves me with a smile and a wow and I am glad I stuck it out. It simply makes me feel good and I am hopeful for where the next episode takes me emotionally. I do not think I am the only watcher who would feel this way.

Warning: Spoilers
We were overdue for a gay character with a sad or romantic backstory and now we got that here. This was not good or bad because of that, I couldn't care less, but I feel like this didn't really do much and didn't answer any longstanding questions.

The rest of the show was pretty good though and The Big Door Prize continues to be delivering strong for Apple TV+.

Stick with more comedy though. I want the personal growth and to see what the next stage for the machine really is, but I feel like they need to tap into the comedy and use the cast to its fullest potential to create the best episodes possible.
