Full of action and suspense, The Roundish Widow is the best episode so far in Season 2, and I have said this after each previous episode, (they just keep getting better and better!!) Podo and Oskar's needling of each other in this episode is simply priceless! (Cue Oskar's gigantic wink at the tavern owner and Podo's eye roll)! The strain between Janner and Tink after events in the last several episodes is building to a head which we will see in the next episode judging by the book's timeline. The introduction of the roof-leaping-sword-swiping Florid Sword is perfectly executed! Leeli knowing exactly who he (The Florid Sword) is, and Nia and Podo's confusion as to the identity of this strange caped fighter's identity is hilarious! I cannot wait to see the next episode!

Fun, but paced like a movie

The pacing set up a lot without paying anything off in this episode. It was more like a movie's pacing. Despite that problem, it felt like it went by much more quickly than the actual runtime, so it was by no means boring.
The voice acting was good, and the animation team had a superb moment showing Nia's emotion at the climax of the episode.
It quietly foreshadows a lot of details well. Readers of the books will pick up on it easily, but those who haven't will want to rewatch this in a year or two.
7 out of 10 for being a well-done cartoon that adults can enjoy, but having pacing that made it somewhat unsatisfying.
