what an ending, what a show
jon_andrews22 May 2024
As a 50 year old man, no other show has made me weep with sadness and joy as many times as The Good Doctor.

And whilst I mam sad to see it end, I think the way it ended was fanatstic.

The potrayal of Dr Muprhy by Freddie Hghmore has been nothing short of excellent and I look forward to seeing what he chooses to do next.

Shows like this dont come along very often...and I think I will start watching it from the start again after a short break.

The way that all the characters got a final send off was great and whilst there could maybe have been another season or two, it certainly went out on a high.

The best ending
Evnskuu22 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The best ending that a show like this could ever have. Very emotional, but the right kind of an ending. The correct way to show a loved ones death, but also main characters future. Amazing way to see how everyone in the show continued to the future. And how they now live their best lives, happily.

I will truly miss the show, but I'm really happy with the way it ended. I wished the best for all characters and that's what i got. The serie had some boring seasons and some boring episodes in good seasons, but I'll still give the show itself a perfect 9. Most of the show was really good and I'll for sure watch it again at some point.

A satisfying ending.

Warning: Spoilers
The Good Doctor season 7 episode 10 "Goodbye" is a quite satisfying ending to this long-running show. I do believe that it feels rushed in some parts, specifically in the treatment of Claire. We see Glassman give Claire the treatment, and then we just cut to 10 years in the future. I wish we could have seen her waking up and her reaction to everything, as well as Glassman getting fired. However, it's not like it ruined the episode for me. I just felt that it would have been even better if the episode was longer so they had time to show us everything. Besides that, I think everybody gave an excellent performance. And i'll definitely miss this show.

Ecstacy in a bottle.

I don't give reviews for episodes nor shed tears unnecessarily nor easily over tv series. But I'm compelled to register my awe respect to the finale of this wonderful series. This is the platinum standard of how ending finales should be, satisfying and respecting the fan's expectations and loyalty; unlike, ahem, the savagery done to some game on some surgical thrones. Pun fully intended. This finale itself deserves an Emmy for closure par excellence. Thank you everyone involved with this great series for this precious goodbye. You will he missed but not forgotten nor unappreciated for bringing a feel good satisfying content to fantasizing our real possibly could imitate reel in our current turbulent world. Incredible job well done. Blessed be everyone. Sayo🙏👍😘😇

A Great Series Finale
grtbow24 May 2024
This series finale was fantastic.

Some shows have great actors and okay writers, even more shows have okay actors and fantastic writers. The Good Doctor had both exceptional writers and actors.

The final episode was touching without being sappy. For me it wrapped up the story which My wife and I enjoyed for 7 years. While it did make me wish the show continued I am satisfied of a good ending.

I often follow actors and watch a show because this particular actor is in it. I watched The Good Doctor because I watched Freddie Hightower in Bates Motel. I need to start looking at where the writers of my favorite shows go next or where they have been before, like I follow the actors.

Thank you writers and thank you actors.

Great Show!
majohnson2200024 May 2024
This was the best show ending I've ever seen. Great characters and stories. It's impossible to not shed a tear. I can't believe it's all over now. I hope they keep making great shows like this. I love how they brought on an actual autistic actress. She's a very good actress with a great future. Freddie Highmore has proved himself to be one of the greats. One of my other favorite series was Bates Motel. Hopefully they will bring a spin-off to this masterpiece. I also loved the guest appearances, like House. It's great to see the familiar faces appear in the episodes. I only wish they would have found a way to cure Glassman.

Great series finale
dapitt-3925523 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the best series finales I've ever seen. I love the flash forward to see how the characters are living their best possible life. A great message on how we can impact the world around us.

I find it hard to believe that Freddie Highmore has not won an Emmy Award (or any other award for that matter) for his portrayal of Doctor Shawn Murphy. I suppose if this were not aired on network television and the producers could make the show a bit more "R" rated, he would have a chance. That's what it takes to get ratings these days. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. I have enjoyed the series from start to finish.

I cried
myles-8692222 May 2024
I'll be sad that's it's over but it was nice way to say goodbye; I cried but it was a good cry. The Ted talk was a nice touch and seeing everyone ones future was a plus. IMDb is making me pad this thing so her goes. I really was emotionally invested in Doctor Murphy from the first episode and I am glad that he found love and had not one but two children. It was nice that the series went full circle and brought back characters from the first season. I don't know why Asher felt the need to leave when there was only 5 episodes left. Very reminiscent of six feet under as to the closing scene. Looking forward to the Good Lawyer.

The best series finale
toncincin25 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This one even beat This is Us (dare I say!). It was handled beautifully. It showed Shaun's growth as a human being. His career. His family. His emotional growth. It was sad - but quite uplifting . I loved that they showed how the other doctors' lives were enriched over the years. It handled the death of Dr Glassman perfectly. We knew he was going to die - but it wasn't shown (thankfully). His stepping in to save Claire was magnificent! We are going to miss this show so much. It didn't preach. It wasn't political. The stories were all wonderful - even in sadness/death. Kudos to the writer for coming up with such a beautiful series finale. Sad. Hopeful. Uplifting. We need more shows like this one.

Love

Nothing, and I mean nothing in this world is responsible for as many tears from my eyes than the good doctor. I love Shaun and everyone else. Best finale episode I have ever seen. It's sad that it's over but happy that happened. Goodbye.

Just realised my review is too short. Well, I have nothing else to say. So reread my review again: Nothing, and I mean nothing in this world is responsible for as many tears from my eyes than the good doctor. I love Shaun and everyone else. Best finale episode I have ever seen. It's sad that it's over but happy that happened. Goodbye.

This does it! 123456789.

Warning!
aky13-13 June 2024
I'm a schmaltzy 77 year old guy. I appreciate shows with acting that is believable. Besides that this series has been consistently excellent through this episode, THIS episode is PERFECT but, be warned, take an ANTIDEPRESSANT before watching it! I'm a Pharmacist, trust me!

I don't want to spoil anything, but IMDb is telling me that I need more words. I will reiterate that I find the medical story lines to be accurate and up-to-date, the human interactions to reflect what I've seen in my life, the writing and acting to be PERFECT to bring these stories to life!

I thank all the people it takes to present a top quality show WORTH WATCHING!

So terrible, it's on brand
sarah-herzog25 May 2024
Honestly, I kinda wish I had any feelings about this, but I actually don't anymore... It's very, very much David Shore.

I have many times thought about how much better this show would be, had they not killed Melendez.

This episode brings it to a new level.

Having Claire, in room 5 of all rooms, tell Kalou she loves him... Way to dishonor Melendez. I'm all for Claire getting a happy ending. But NOT like this. Don't reuse that, that's cheep. It's not original for a hospital show as it is, but the same character twice?

Also, I would have preferred if she'd met someone on Guatemala. Kalou is such a cheap way out. They weren't that great in season 1 and I could see them be friends now, without it being weird.

But this out of thin air feels like a grab at something to just give her someone we know. Also, like a consolation prize, given she and Melendez never got to figure it out.

Also, hasn't this girl been through enough? The way her mom treated her, then her mom dying, Melendez dying, her father showing up, then also he's not there anymore... Now she's loosing an arm, therefore her ability to be a surgeon? Come on, they really couldn't cut her a break?

Not to mention, why is Kalou on her case? Since people knew, at least Lim was very clear about it, it should have been "you're too close to this" and end of story! Well, they all are. But Lim's approach to try and save her arm seems like what Claire would do. See the whole patient.

This all feels wrong on so many levels.

It's sadly on brand, by know.

This show had about 3 or 4 great seasons, before it sent downhill fast.

Nothing much left of what I loved about it, sadly.

As for the other characters, Park and Morgan make sense, that was good enough.

Glassman's tumor being back is just something I am tired of by know, this is just recycled from season 1. So much... Lea is... She's around. Used to like her, than she annoyed me for a few seasons, now she's just there.

Glad Shaun came around on Charlie in the end! Everything else would have been just wrong on many more levels.

Dom also found his place, thankfully.

Jordan is happy, as she should be. Girl really got enough to deal with on the few seasons she was on.

Somehow Andrews wasn't even mentioned, which is wrong on so many levels, too. They could have made an effort to at least mention the characters that aren't around: Andrews, Melendez, Wolke. Just as a nice way of saying that we're a part of that.

I do like the idea of the foundation. And I can see Shaun and Claire working together on it quite well.

I was dreading this episode
degrimstead-126 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Since I was NOT ready to say goodbye to these characters, and I thought it would just be too emotional to handle. BUT ... they did a really good job of wrapping up everyone's story! I "got closure," as they say, and my emotions were in check when it was over. So many couples got togather after 10 more years - it was nice to see that Sean and his wife had a daughter in addition to Steve, and I think I saw a ring on the wedding finger of the black intern (?) as she sat next to the guy she'd fallen for but who was dealing with an addition and had left town. Yay! And of course Claire persevered without a right arm and had a child with that handsome doc who loves her. Only disappointing thing was that the chief doctor sat alone; well hopefully she'll find love in Ukraine. Good job, writers!

Warning: Spoilers
It was a gread show finale but man.. come on, they did not bring doc Andrews... he had a MAJOR part in keeping Shawn as a doctor at the hospital. He even sacrificed his presidency to fire doctor Han and keeping him there... They brought back Perez but not Andrews?? Man.....

anyway, the ending was perfect because we were able to see what happened to everybody..

Lim moving to eastern europe for some reason.. ok

claire surviving and getting married to Kalu.

Park and Reznick being happily ever after.. ok

Shawn and Leah having another baby and shawn becoming chief of surgery.. ok

apparently jerome got another guy.. ok..

big dude went into family practice i guess..

charlie became an attending, I suppose.. ok

overall, great!

A rushed episode.
bizzyziggy7 June 2024
I have been a fan of this show since the first episode. During that time, there have only been a handful of stinkers. The ratings on those episodes will show you which ones. They were usually the preachy ones, with the message embedded in it and overall poor writing. The most recent one like that, was the one killing off Dr. Wolke. A cheap shot just to evoke an emotion for current times and of course, not even factual on those who killed him.

I wasn't thrilled to see Claire back, as she's not a character I liked and the one usually pushing the preachiness.

My biggest issue with the show is the suddenly tying up issues and the flash-forward. It seems to be a recent thing. They did this recently with New Amsterdam. Life goes on. Not everything needs to be tied up. This doesn't happen when we die. There doesn't need to be a resolution.
