A film with a soul

Got a chance to see this movie in Chicago Film Fest. It started slowly and you wont realise you are watching a horror flick untill it goes into the final act. There are a few jump scares here and there, nothing that we have not seen in the past. But thats the whole point. The film focuses on the helplesness of the protagnist who is unable to figure out what he is witnessing is even real, untill it gets very real.

Its a very engaging story if you can sit through the first few minutes. Like all Indie films it has its own production shortcomings, but we dont get to see enough movies like this that have a soul.

Chills and Thrills

The movie is full of surprises and a great theme over all. It's not the usual horror movie. You expect the usual course but each time you try to guess something and it take a very different turn.

The story is quite captivating and keeps you on your toes. The theme of the movie has a great message and will make you look forward to next chapter of the series as it does say Chapter 1 and you will want to see Chapter 2.

The performances of the main male character stands out really well. He has truly justified the role.

Cinematography could have been better as lot of scenes are very bright for a horror movie.

To be honest I wasn't having much expectations from Jinn, as the cast was new But I was wrong. Jinn is a well-directed and well-written horror movie that has a terrific story line and dialogues. The first scene sets the tone and there are hardly any dull moments in the film. They did a fantastic job and the performances from the lead and supporting actors are fabulous. It is really one of the best horror flicks produced. You must watch it if you like no-nonsense horror movies with a great story and performances. Cast performance was superb and other supporting actors did their job well. 8/10 from me.
