As Carly returns from the honeymoon Judy consoles Alfie, who has a fresh tattoo inked over the one that read Carly's name (or Alcy, by mistake.) After admitting to Michelle that it is a lie he decides to follow through and dates old school-friend Julie, who is smart and attractive - until she opens her mouth. After he sees her snogging somebody else he has to come clean to Carly. Anne-Marie meanwhile impresses a group of ramblers on a hen party whilst Judy's brother Gary celebrates being Employer of the Month at his broadband company by inviting his boss, the diminutive Sheila, to dinner. Tandeep books a party of art lovers - in town for an exhibition to which Judy's brother, Bald Gary, is contributing a painting - into Edge of Heaven. He even refurnishes the room to be more upmarket, which annoys his wife but, oddly enough, the art fans and the regulars get on very well. Alfie and his work-mates and the obnoxious Prop Maartie have a lads' night out on the pull but secretly Alfie and Michelle are hankering after each other but keeping it quiet. They do however grow closer after evicting a group of raucous pensioners Granny Mo has asked to a party. Unfortunately he falls foul of her when he fails to meet up with her for an ice cream as instead he is seeing - platonically - Carly, who is trying to find a rich husband online. Anne-Marie's hopes of getting back with old flame from her Army days Ginger Tom are dashed but she does find compensation.
