OK They Get One More Shot
Hitchcoc29 April 2024
I was disappointed in the pilot episode. It thought maybe things would pick up. But this one is just a lame replay. Some nutty cult members are drawing people in, draining their bank accounts, and then killing them. Once again there is no continuity. In the books Coulton is constantly looking at things statistically as he weights his options. There is a tiny bit in the first scene of the first episode. This time the whole thing makes no sense whatsoever. There is no mystery. The people working the scam are disorganized and careless. This is a simple missing person's show. Coulter is just another pretty boy figure in a dull series. I'll try one more, but I don't hold out much hope.

Learn How To Pronounce the Name of the Town
noelle_muir25 March 2024
The premise of the show is interesting. Disappointing to see it recycling the same old tropes. It's a little laughable that whenever crime shows venture into Montana, it always seems to be centered around some cult. The writing is pretty goofy in spots, with lots of one-liners that try too hard. It feels way too shallow to help the audience connect with any of the characters. Like others have said, too much is crammed into a single episode. Finally, if you're going to center a plot around a specific town, at least do some research to figure out how to pronounce the town. Mi-zoo-luh, not Mi-sue-luh.

Not what I would have picked for a second episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The cult premise could have been good. It really needed to be a two-part episode I think to have any real impact, Jackson's realization that the cult is bad is comical. Hopeful that the cult angle maybe plays a bigger role later on (if the show isn't canceled by then.) There was nothing inherently sinister about the cult other than the traditional cult tropes and that they had cameras?

39 minutes is not enough time for how much they are trying to shoehorn into this show. It really needs to chose between the two-ladies or the tech-whiz. Having them both is too confusing and it also makes Tracker look like he doesn't know how to do anything other than drive a Denali.

This show could be interesting, but this episode was not a strong showing.

so many holes

Warning: Spoilers
This episode, like the first, has some good and solid ideas but fumbles them... It goes between "suspend your disbelief and enjoy the action" and trying to dig deeper into serious matters in a decent way. There are also some crazy plot holes. If the cult people were paranoid about their dirty deeds being found and knew Colter was coming to that building, why would they just leave the file with the murder pics for him to find so easily? All he did was take photos of the dashcam footage and send them to the police - why would the two cult people get arrested over that? It's not even clear what's going on in those photos, so weird that they were getting cuffed.
