Just watched 'Hunting the Catfish Crime Gang and wow, it's a total mind blower. Starts off with this influencer guy, James Blake showing off his swanky cars and what seems like a dream life. But oh my god, it quickly flips into this intense journey into the darkness of the online world. I was completely taken aback to learn that some people behind fake online profiles might be forced into scamming. That was a total revelation to me!
The documentary gets really really dark with the human trafficking angle, and it's crazy frustrating to see how little action the big social media players are taking. It actually broke my heart at times. I thought James was just fabulous. From his social media posts, I can see that he has mentioned this is his first proper TV documentary, but he absolutely nailed it. You can see him evolving right before your eyes. The whole thing is super fast-paced - not a single yawn moment.
By the end, I was like, 'No way, it can't be over already!' James is so down-to-earth and surprisingly very likeable. I'm a fan now myself and enjoy his social media, I'm super excited to see what he does next. He's definitely got the potential to be a big name in TV, Can't wait for more of his stuff.
