Worse than the first episode

Just like when a human especially a child gets kidnapped, animals need to be seen by a vet. That Galah needed to be at least seen by the woman he was stolen from so he could be fed and checked over. If they had done that they might have solved the case earlier!

Not well written or directed and the acting is terrible especially the lead NCIS woman. She is over playing her role which is likely a combination of just bad acting but also the director. Even the medical examiner is horrible. The blond Aussie chick is perhaps the best actor among them all.

Best thing about this episode was the animals.

"Snakes in the Grass"

Warning: Spoilers
I guess it had to happen. On a TV show largely made to cater to an American audience, there had to be a storyline involving one of the (admittedly many) things that can kill you down here in Australia: snakes.

An episode about wildlife and gun smugglers - as strange a combination of bad guy action as I think I've ever heard.

Also, an episode so chock-full of horrendously bad cliches, there were times I wanted to laugh out loud. Pretty sure that wasn't what the producers were going for.

A definite step backward from the high-octane pilot episode, "Snakes in the Grass" was not the best NCIS episode I've ever seen. Then again, it wasn't the worst.

Keeping track of Sydney locations: we saw Terrey Hills and White Bay, and I'm pretty sure that the pre-credit dead body was found in the Hawkesbury River, which isn't far from Terrey Hills.

One character who really annoys me: Mavournee Hazel's Blue Gleeson. Maybe a cross between Abby and Nell, but a million times more annoying.

Warning: Spoilers
I feel like this episode helped the show find its groove a bit more and start to get into that NCIS vibe a bit more.

Tuuli Narkle is well cast as one of the female detectives. We may not be looking at the next Kensi or Ziva, but NCIS always excels at finding the people for this role and it looks like they did it again.

There was some good humor mixed in with a case that is easy to follow. That is really all you need for an episode of NCIS to work.

But I just worry how they will even try to present a realistic landscape of these US people being so involved in Australian water deaths, but maybe they can.
