Slow-paced and predictable
vassiliskounelis24 October 2023
Season 12 of American Horror Story fails to capture the essence of its predecessors, suffering from a slow-paced narrative that fails to pick up steam even after the initial five episodes. The recycled storyline offers little in terms of innovation, making the eventual conclusion feel predictable and unremarkable. Despite its lack of originality, the season manages to maintain a certain level of watchability, but this alone cannot compensate for its overall lackluster execution. Fans may find themselves yearning for the gripping storytelling that once defined the American Horror Story series..

Some interesting parts, and numerous unnecessary and uninteresting additions.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally! It has been obvious from early on that Preecher was also the victim of satanic abuse, but a confirmation is always reassuring. They should not have waited with this 'Revelation' for so long though. In fact, the past five episodes should have fitted into three, with some necessary omissions to ensure three 50-minute long episodes instead of the overly short 37-39 min episodes.

I understand the need to create and sustain suspense for the sake of sparking the viewer's interest - that is why some questions are left unanswered for a long time, or are even never answered at all. However, the writers' aim fails to be met, and it feels as if the story is dragging along on itself with decreasing coherence and abandonment or incompletion of subplots. Besides, where has the HORROR gone? About 80% of the episode consisted of drama 'filler' to give substance to the series (without actually doing this). The worst part is that some consistencies persist, like Dexter being an insufferable gas lighter, or Anna's despair. However, Siobhan is all over the place. I am uncertain whether to like her, hate her, or think nothing of her. Her coldness towards Anna was shocking and unusual coming from her. Unfortunately, this leaves me confused, and somewhat disappointed; as if there are different writers involved in determining her script such that her actions are so... Eclectic and illogical. I'm sorry, but this episode did not quite do it for me. Thankfully, Denis O'Hare never disappoints, and manages to completely immerse himself in the character he is portraying. Although there are some really f'ed up moments that Roberts enacts (eating a raccoon that has been dead for at least 4-7 days), I am still looking for a 'wow' factor which has unfortunately not emerged in this season. Sorry.

?????? ._.

Are you kidding me? Wtf was that?? Another AHS season and *yet again* we're left with NOTHING. Well, half a season; second half apparently returns in 2024 - not that I'll be watching.

So, season 12: some nebulous, convoluted BS involving witches, a boring movie star "Rosemary" being gaslit, her equally boring husband, Kim K, tedious, badly acted rich people problems in vast charmless surroundings, any horror element is replaced by silly and disgusting gore. Not a single character is relatable or likeable, they're like dolls. Completely bland, flat. I couldn't give a f what happened to any of them. It's like watching the washing machine spin - nothing. Just a grey dull blurry nothing.

I'm done with AHS. Done hoping it'll return to its former standards - it won't. It's just a waste of time.

Awesome AHS is Back with something to Prove
paulied-4966319 October 2023
Episode five once again Bangin! Episode four was a little slow IMO nothing real exciting to note although still watchable and mildly interesting and entertaining. Five is bringing much more excitement with important plot points. It's truly amazing how after several seasons jumping the proverbial shark AHS has done a complete one eighty and is one hundred percent back to what it once was and if possible it's even creepier and dare I say scarier than ever, actually I'm gonna go with creepier and darker than ever instead Lol. I can't think of a single sitcom or drama that has managed to make a comeback after losing its audience. This is a testament to the incredible talent of Mr. Ryan Murphy and his team. Oh and lastly just like my other reviews I want to voice my continued praise to Emma Robert's she is doing an excellent job with this character that we aren't used to seeing from her AND my personal favorite KimK is doing it and doing it and doing it WELL! Murphy knows what he's doing no question. Kim has the acting chops and she's proving it in each episode. Congrats KimK I never had a doubt Xoxo.

Horrible
epickering-0212021 October 2023
This season is worthless. I tried to give it a shot, but if you saw the first episode you have seen the season so far. It is the same episode over and over. It is becoming unbearable to keep watching. It has become a train wreck. I am thinking of just calling it quits but it is like a train wreck.

I know that people are giving Kim Kardashian a hard time but honestly with or without her the season sucks. Her performance has nothing to do with the quality of this season. You could put any actress in that roll and it wouldn't help. The story is just that bad.

Maybe it is time to just finish the American Horror Story series.

What is the point of this season?!
chrismilit-3662520 October 2023
Flat acting.

A storyline that is going nowhere. After 5 whole episodes, no plot, no twist, no turn, no magic that the series originally had in telling a horror story.

Visually anemic.

The "horror" scenes are like something out of a bad makeshift haunted house tour.

Each and every character in this season has no dimension.

I couldn't care less what happens to any of them. That's my overall sentiment for this season.

Now we have to wait until 2024 for the rest of the season. Why? We're not left in suspense, so why? All that does is gives me time to forget the horrible 5 episodes I just wasted my time on.

That's It?? Part 2 Coming 2024!???
kelsmcclellan2319 October 2023
This is the most unsatisfying mid-season finale ever released. I am appalled that part 1 was released at all. The story is unfinished. It was not a finale by any means; it was just another episode.

I understand the SAG-AFTRA strike caused production to be halted. I wholeheartedly stand with the writers and actors.

But that doesn't mean release an unfinished season, slap on a Part 1 title, and call it a day. It's greedy. They should have waited to release this season in its entirety.

I was hoping it would be like season 4 of Netflix's "You" that was released in two parts, where the main question in part 1 was answered at the end of part 1, with a new yet familiar continuation of the conflict in part 2. This was not the case with Delicate.

This season, albeit a little slow, so far has shown so much potential. Emma Roberts is fantastic as always. I'm anxious to see how it all ties together.

But part 1 answered no questions. This episode started to give some answers, but the ending fell flat on a cliff-hanger that felt irrelevant. When the credits rolled after the commercial I said, "That's it??"

The release date for part 2 is just... 2024? That could be 3 months or 14 months.

This is coming from a longtime fan of AHS. Very disappointed in them doing the disservice of releasing an unfinished season that had great potential.

Casting...
jonnnk9 November 2023
No wonder this show is falling apart.when the casting director will only give you a role on this show if you're related to an already famous actor? So now we have Emma Roberts, billy Lourd.. Chers son, Michael Jacksons daughter, Cindy Crawfords daughter, Kim Kardashian...A directors name popped up.... Max Winkler.. I thought surely not but yep... Henry Winklers son.. I'm sure there are plenty more I haven't mentioned...Is their any point in young actors even bothering when people like this are in charge of making the final decision? Good job bozos. Way to ruin what was a pretty good show now it's unwatchable.

Clearly bitter NYC was such a flop...
m-4782621 October 2023
It's as if producers don't care anymore, and wrote a story without real purpose this season. Or something very predictable everyone will take like a slap in the face. This year's finale didn't even end in a way that makes you want to return next year. And is the show really ending with this season? There too, it's as if they simply planned on letting it die, and we'll probably never have any answers to all the questions the AHS run raised since 2011... In Delicate so far, the characters are still obnoxious and dull, the buildup is excruciatingly slow, and the horror is well, just not there. The only thing I liked about Preech, was Denis O'Hare's scenes, the rest is just not worth my time. And Kim Kardashian is still not in her element yet, and is starting to annoy me trying to get in character.

Feels like sabotage to me...

My eyes hurt
tatis-b15 November 2023
It's so painful watch Kardashan. Seriously.. zero talent... i am not surprised.. I was sure that it was a terrible decision to add her in that show... but it is so bad... worse than bad... my mind cannot process how producers selected her while there are so many talented actors out there..... and i can see poor Emma Roberts trying so hard during their scenes together and getting literally nothing. In general the cast is quite good but the whole level is falling just because of this terrible mistake!!! Somehow this show manages to get worse in each season and it manages to disappoint me every time.

American Bore-or Story
jo819628 November 2023
Previous AHS seasons, while not particularly substantive, at least have actual energy as well as an interest in, y'kno, horror. Even the Roswell half of Double Feature, previously the nadir of the franchise, had Neal McDonough to provide some sense of quality. This new season has zero redeeming qualities in my eyes. Delicate has been a miserable slog of vacant people in beautifully vacant rooms with zero atmosphere to anything at all. Plot momentum is almost non-existent and they must have been feeding the actors Percosets at craft services. I can't see even an AHS superfan getting much out of these episodes. If the second half is anything like the first, AHS needs to be retired permanently.

Terrible
postirene23 November 2023
This is the worst season they ever made. An annoying pregnant woman seeing things. Kin Kardashian with her annoying snobby way of talking and those big lips. Obnoxious. The story line sucks. No flashbacks and no horror. I kept waiting for something to happen and I was disappointed every single time! Boring as hell. And the 2nd half not until 2024? Trying to do the same thing the walking dead did. Try American horror STORIES. It isn't great but watchable. Better than this garbage! And none of the good actors are in . I found myself not even paying attention because of the boredom amd I'm a die hard fan!!!

What ?
icantoo21 November 2023
Ok first you guys take my favorite show and insert a Kardashian. What is wrong with you? So I watched it because it is my favorite series in the world. Kim Kardashian's face is frozen, she couldn't make an expression if the room was on fire can someone please tell me why they thought she could act? Doesn't that require some form of ability to express?

The story? No not interesting, the twist on Rosemary's baby I get but it was horribly executed. The first two episodes could have been combined into one and still be horrible. The biggest atrocity of any form of series or movie is to be bland. For American horror it should be a crime. I love Emma Roberts but why did she agree to this?

Whoever wrote this, cast this, produced this and acted on this should be banned from Hollywood for life. Thank you for stopping me from going any further with the break. I will not be watching the second half. So Disappointed I canceled my hulu subscription.
