When Drag Race meets real world issues

This episode is one of my favorite throughout all franchises! Not only do the queens look STUNNING, but the challenge gets real and shows us a side of drag that is more valuable than the everyday comedic skits we get. This episode humanized these queens, and Shannon managed to shine through the entire episode.

The lip sync was a bit lack luster, but both queens still ended up being entertaining, and the Shantay was very well deserved. We get a little bit of drama at the end, wrapping the episode up with a bow and solidifying it as one of drag race's best.

Very happy about the upward trend that Drag Race Brazil is in, it is putting up a good fight to be in the top seasons of this year. Can't wait to see the rest of it!

Is Drag Race all about fun?

This week's episode is marked by a main challenge that resonates with the question of what defines drag art. Is drag about wonderful looks and flawless make-up? Is it about using your own body as a canvas for artistic expression? Is it about humor that defies gender barriers and social conventions? Is performance and stage presence all that matters? What about the political role of queens? Or didn't you know that everything is political?!

This season we saw the queens exploring their performative side by recording a video clip; taking part in an acting challenge whose main role was that of the D of a dead soccer player; then proving their ability to make lemonade out of lemons with the design challenge. What is it that causes so much revulsion in an episode that puts the contestants in a position to expose a side that is committed to a cause so important to us? I don't know if you (non-brazilians) are aware, but on the day the episode aired, a bill was being voted on in Congress that would strip LGBTQIAP+ people of their right to marriage in Brazil.

So yes, we want an episode about this on our Drag Race, we need it. And in case you didn't know, emotion is also entertainment. As for humor, don't worry, in the next episode our queens will show what humor means in the Snatch Game!

My favorite so far

My favorite episode from this season! Runway was perfect. Makeup great, mini challenge was great even though I would do something different regarding direction performance or whatever. I got emotionally involved because the pressure upon our community is higher than we think. I hope the quality of runaway keeps good as this one. Lots of love to the queens.. you're brave.

The judge invited was good and funny.

Grag looks beautiful and makeup great.

Dudu should appreciate a bit more Betina as she was stunning.

I just wish the lipsinc had a Bossa Nova song or any other MPB song.. Brazil is more than pop, funk songs. Where is the Samba raiz? Thank you.

Boring, preachy, it's like the comedy was banished from Brazil

I thought Brazilian supposed to be fun, colors, dance, samba. But this Drag Race is changing my mind.

What exactly was the challenge in this episode?. Who cry the most?.

Just terrible.

There is a reason why RuPaul has never made a challenge like this: it's boring. Gays don't need to listen to this, we already fight for equality for EVERYONE, so please don't have any more of this.

The only saving grace of this episode is the guest judge that was pretty funny and the runway looks were pretty good.

Please do Entertainment, that's what we want to watch. If I wanted to hear to preachy speeches I'd watch something else.
