Sex & Nudity

  • A man's buttocks are exposed during a rape scenm.
  • A rape scene happens. The rape is more implied then outright shown. We see the man yank the guy's pants down and two thrusts, and it cuts to the next scene.
  • A man tries to convince another guy to sleep with him for money. He kisses him aggressively, but the other man successfully halts it.
  • There is an implied sex scene between two men. It's intercut between other things and we see it from the shoulders up, but it's still clear nonetheless what's going on.

Violence & Gore

  • A rape scene happens. The rapist punches the other guy in the face, pulls his pants down and we only see him thrust twice into the man, but it's still clear that it was brutal.
  • A man who has just been raped sits in the shower. A steady stream of blood comes out from beneath him, making it clear how brutal the rape was.
  • A man vomits twice in reaction to a drug. Once is shown right on screen, the other into a toilet.
  • A man's nose bleeds, likely as a side effect of a new drug he is taking.

Profanity

  • Around 20-30 uses of "fuck", 10 or so uses of "bitch" (most of which happen in a single scene), and a few minor cuss words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • During a party, champagne and other alcohols are consumed. A man invites a guy into his house and feeds him a drink of, by the other guy's admission, "pure gin".
  • During a dinner scene, red wine is drank.
  • The film's entire plot centers around pep, an HIV prevention drug.
  • Weed is smoked twice in the film.
  • A man mistakenly thinks that another man is only asking for money for drugs.
  • A character stress-drinks when the reality of a limited timeline hits him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The rape scene, although more implied than outright shown, is still disturbing. Both because of its surrealist presentation, and because it's very close to reality.
  • The entire film is downright anxiety inducing. The 72 hour time frame in which Benjamin has to raise funds for a drug he can't afford is very intense and shown in an accurately tight time frame.
  • A dinner scene happens where a man asks his friend for money. Her husband is implied to be racist and immediately suspects the money would be for drugs. While the scene is meant to be comical, it can be a tad upsetting for some.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man sees who he thinks is his rapist. He has a fantasy where he follows said rapist to a parking lot, and stabs him with a thin knife multiple times, and the man clearly has blood in his mouth. This is very quickly revealed have just been a fantasy.
