35 minutes of pure emotion and talent
igor-mclovin1 April 2023
This documentary showcases 35 minutes of pure emotion and talent. The crew achieved a perfect balance between posed and candid shots, allowing the audience to connect with the people portrayed on screen. The family dance scene in Kurdistan and the dancing workshop at the refugee camp were particularly moving, and the close camera work made me feel like I was right there with them - I caught myself grinning from ear to ear.

I have the utmost respect for documentary filmmaking that allows its subjects to express themselves authentically without having to put on a show for the camera. This film captures a wide range of emotions and demonstrates that powerfully.

Therefore, I am thrilled to nominate the director for an Oscar. Let's celebrate at the Kurdish tea shop - extra sugar is on me.
