DI Riya Ajunwa begins putting the pieces together, when a disturbing series of events happens in her small town, a young girl goes missing, a stag is found disemboweled, and a group of protesters gather at a fracking site.
I watched an interview with Andrea Buchan, and was intrigued by his description, I can see what he meant, very much Fargo, Fortitude, Stranger things, Twin Peaks, that sort of quirky, surreal vibe, we even get a Twin Peaks reference.
Not one to watch if you're tired or ina bad mood, this would absolutely send you off your rocker. Almost unfathomable, you don't know if you're watching a thriller, a sci fi or something else. Hopefully it will straighten out in the next episode.
It's always interesting to see someone who's well known for being on the other side of the camera, jump behind the scenes, Andrew Buchan is a cracking actor, one clearly with a vivid imagination.
Quality casting, David Threlfall and the fabulous Wunmi Mosaku, there aren't many better, hopefully it will improve.
5/10.
