Good Finale
kamilhajnos2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The villain actually succeeded. He managed to make himself look good even after his death. And got emillie back. I think that the only bad thing is that cat noir wasn't fighting him in the finale. Many will say that it's not great because adrien thinks that his father did a good thing but that's why the ending is good because Gabriel actually succeeded in the end. It might make us annoyed that he didn't get called out for his lies but I think that the point of it is that it makes room for future plot point. I think that somehow he will find out about it maybe Marinette wont bear hiding the secret from him.

Pound it!

Warning: Spoilers
It was good, but I didn't like was the whole "no Cat Noir, no reveal, no sentimonster."

Lady Noir!

I love the fact that the characters from the special (The United Heroes and Fei Wu), made an appearance!! Also Luka too, missed him.

I like the ending on how Gaberiel sacrificed himself for Emilie and Nathalie...I love the ending scenes, the timeskip.....I also like how Lila/Cerise/Iris Verdi, or whatever her name is has the butterfly miraculous...poor Nooroo.

What I also don't like is how Gabriel has a statue-? 😭

What was that last bit of the episode though- what was that blue lightning-???

the best episode of the series
lovnoirr6 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is certainly the best of all, in my opinion the animation is good, and there is a lot of very important things for the future of the series in this episode. This episode closes the first arc with incredible scenes, good fights and in the end, making you want the sequel to arrive to find out what hasn't been revealed yet. Gabriel's wish scene was certainly one of the best of the episode, it was a beautiful and very unexpected scene because no one expected that in the end the villain would win, but he won, and it left a lot of people surprised, because of this scene, from now on a lot will change, and I'm very anxious to know what will happen.

There are flaws but its amazing to finally culminate to this
destructostorm1 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Lets be honest, the moves here can be understood if you look from a writers perspective. He had to let the mask revelation for next season because there was already a lot happening this season(way too much) and also to make S6 and S7 happen. Not to mention if Adrien was there then he would know who Monarch is and pretty much be of no help because of shock and in the end it would still be Ladybug fighting with Monarch with both Miraculous. So why not save revelation for later?

Gabriel had to give up something in order to get Emily back and he did. That redemption was almost not possible but made sense only because Ladybug showed Emily video at the end and also because Gabriel always had soft spot for Adrien(preventing Akumatizations and harm to Adrien) Although many would want this final battle to involve Adrien but it was not the case because the writer obviously wants to use Gabriel in the future as the turning point in Ladybug and Chat Noir revelation especially when fighting Lila and this is because Lila knows it all especially with the info she stole with Nathalie's help. I would love to see the development of Adrien as a character due to this and both know others identity.

The cunningness of the writers is in very small things this season : where Ladybug types the msg to Chat but does not press send. Also Emily is back with Nathalie but that shouldnt be the case until Gabriel was the one who made a wish and that will never happen if Ladybug is present because she will never allow any wish to take place. THat brings the major point of the lines that Gabriel spoke at the time of wishing. READ MY HEART. READ MY SOUL :::::NONE KNOWS WHAT HIS ACTUAL WISH WAS. NONE KNOWS THE PRICE. SO NONE KNOWS HOW THE WORLD WAS RECREATED. That gives immense freedom on what can happen in the future which was extremely smart of them. It can literally mean Adrien and Marinette are not Superheroes anymore someone else is or maybe BunnyX can go back in time to prevent this from happening. Like anything can be justifiable.

Perfect ending
ghami-0552628 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Oh my god I didn't expect such a finale but here we are One of the best plot twists ever in this series and the fact that he ended up as a hero and did not actually destroy the world like the last time that we saw this happen in the fourth season made it what it is and deserves the title of the best episode in this series And people are mad because cat noir wasn't there and i think the choice was perfect and it is for the fact that he never would have looked up to his that as before and would have known the identity of lady bug and could have had a massive impact on the story ... what if he switched sides and helped his dad to actually destroy the world and sacrificed some one else that would have been unfortunate but still it is was it is.

It wasn't that bad
margaretparkera25 July 2023
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. This series has disappointed me time and time again, but this ending honestly wasn't too bad. I wish there would have been some consequences or something, but there weren't, which isn't surprising. There are no consequence in this show.

Visually, it was actually really great. Historically the show has had some less than ideal animation, but both this episode and the one before it had phenomenal animation, especially compared to some of the episodes in season 4.

Overall it wasn't awful. The pacing was fine, and i actually enjoyed the little cliff hanger at the end. I enjoyed how they brought in characters from past episodes. The music was pretty good too.

Maybe my standards have been worn down from years of consistent disappointment, but im okay with this finale. It's fine. It seems crazy to give this episode a 9, but honestly, i enjoyed it.

not that bad

Warning: Spoilers
The episode ends when Gabriel makes his wish, but there is no other information that was explained which made me curious what will happen in the next season. There's a lot of intense scenes and moments which is enjoyable to watch. Unexpected scenes like the Kwamis revealing themselves make the show a bit darker for their older audiences, but also keeping PG 13+. The episode ends with an Adrienette kiss and an unexplained end credits scene with lila with the butterfly miraculous to replace gabriel as monarch

I was disappointed how adrien wasn't in the episode often and how marinette/ladybug doesn't tell the truth about his father, but overall pretty good episode.

I expected more...
tenly-987971 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't a big fan of the final Gabriel/Marinette scene and everything that came after.

It was ridiculous. UTTERLY ridiculous that Ladybug transformed into Marinette within arms reach of Gabriel Agreste after 5 full seasons of evil and double crossing. Even Marinette is not that monumentally stupid.

Also - although they didn't show it - it seems Marinette respected Gabriel's last wish and did not tell Adrien about the villain his father was - and it's almost believable that she might be willing to keep that secret...BUT - AND THIS IS WHAT BUGS ME THE MOST about this:
  • SHE WOULD NEVER HAVE KEPT THE SECRET FROM CAT NOIR - especially after leaving him a voicemail message (or text) about it earlier in the episode!!!

And on that note, I want to complain about one other thing that has bugged me for more than a full season... and that is that as soon as Marinette became "The Guardian", it's insane and unfathomable that she didn't know Cat Noir's identity. The guardian absolutely needs to know who all of the holders are. I could buy it IF she didn't want to reveal HER identity - but as Guardian, it's a complete dereliction of her duties to not know the identity of all of the holders.

Season 6 had better start with a flashback of LadyBug and Cat Noir revealing their identities to each other after Gabriel's wish - and Ladybug updating him on everything that happened - or I'll be so angry that Lila will probably akumatize me!

On a positive note, I want to cast my vote for the best line in all of season 5:

Ladybug (angrily): "Get Lost Butterly"

Had me laughing for at least a good 5 minutes straight - and then several more times over the next few days.

Absolutely disastrous.
oooommmmiiiiii1 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Hooo boy this episode was absolutely HORRENDOUS and what boggles me is that it could've at least been decent if the writers put in the effort to do just three little things!

1. Fix up the pacing a bit, while even if they didn't do this and did the other two things I'm about to list I bet I would've still liked the finale better pacing would've been great.

2. Include Adrien/Cat Noir in the final battle against the main villain of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & CAT NOIR. Like who the hell thought it was a good idea to not include Adrien confronting his father? One of the main reasons the entire plot of the show and Gabriel as a villain is compelling is because one of the two main protagonists is the son of the main villain and yet they REFUSE to use any of the potential that this dynamic has that is handed to them on a silver platter! This alone ruins the finale because the show had been building up to this confrontation for 8 YEARS!

3. DON'T REDEEM GABRIEL THE VILLAIN WHO HAS PROVEN HE IS BEYOND REDEMPTION OF ANY FORM. I think this speaks for itself we all know how horrible Gabriel is and we all know that he didn't deserve that redemption-like thing that happened to him where everyone views him as the good guy. One thing that made me sick is Adrien at the end basically saying he wants to be just like his father after all of the abuse and torment his father has put him through.

These are the three things the three EASY things that would've made the final go from a horrible one to at the very least a decent one in my eyes. Now this episode did have some things that I liked; I thought the fight choreography between BugNoire and Monarch was great and I thought the way the wish was presented was cool but those two things are the only two things I'd say I fully liked about the episode.

Overall I'm giving this episode a 2/10 and the finale as a whole a 3-4/10 while this might be harsh and perhaps re-watching it will change my thoughts I absolutely hate this finale and it makes me upset. Also, I've been an avid defender of the show and have always thought that it's been of criticized and is better than a lot make it out to be but I don't think that that will be the case anymore, this finale has sapped almost all of the love I had for the show away.

Sorry if this was negative and a bit messy but I just wanted to voice my thoughts to the world. I also have a lot more issues with the finale but I don't have the energy right now.

Not satisfying
hiradsadeghi-735173 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. The finale was not good at all. It was the worst season finale of the show. Gabriel winning at the end ? No consequence for the wish , that has been said to be disastrous? Adrien being completely left and not finding out his dad was Monarch? No Reveal ? No Tomeo Tsurugi punishment ? No Agreste Confrobtation?

I don't know why this is now a 9.1. The finale was a nightmare. People! It was the end of the Agreste Arc!!!! There was no Agreste confrontation at all. Adrien didn't appear in the finale until the finale 5 minutes!!! Natahlie is somehow alive like What?

If the wish brought back Natahlie and not Emilie ,It makes a little a bit more sense but not at all.

What was the sudden 180 turn Gabriel had at the end? He just got redeemed yet Chloe is irredeemable?

Yes he had reasons for being Monrach but how can anyone justify his bad father behaviors ?

And now Lila is going to do the same thing we have seen for 8 years. Not a single change.

At this point It is just obvious they are milking the show.

It was the end of the Agreste arc and The Last Day for many viewers burning theirs times watching this show.

Adrien should've been there! Mediocre finale.
masonbarton-129116 February 2024
It was...okay-ish, I liked the action, emotion, and that kiss at the end! That was one of the most satisfying moments I've seen in my opinion. The downside with it...ADRIEN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO FACE HIS OWN FATHER!!! GAAAAHH! Thomas Astruc has gone too far this time! It's called "Ladybug AND Cat Noir!" That being said, it was still okay-ish. 50/100.

Still though, the movie itself had a proper way of doing a final battle with Gabriel, and he even meant his apology and accepted his defeat in the movie, something Astruc should've done in the show, but apparently he's too busy trying to mock our sanity! Still though I have high hopes for the next season, and this time, it better be better than this season. Astruc really disobeyed the title. What kind of writer his he?

A lot did happen in this season.
mahrad491731 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
They did so many things in this season, and what should i say, the next season there should be a new villain or somehow bring back gabriel, two main protagonists finally got together, it was great honestly.

The thing that leaves me questioning this season, why didnt they just end it this season? Sorta seemed like everything was prepared to end the tv show but they just decided why not continue it? Its makes us some money.

Not to mention i remember the creators say its gonna be ended with season 5, idk honestly.

It was a bit disappointing that cat noir wasn't present in final episode, but the writing was pretty good. Been not following this animation series in a while, zag didnt disappoint me and my family watching it.
