This hit close to home
nancur29 May 2023
In 1949 my mother was pregnant with twins and had to have a c-section, I believe 6-8 weeks early. She had fallen recently which may have been the cause for the early birth. My family is Jewish and we were at a local hospital, a catholic hospital. My mom's OB doctor told my dad that the nun/nurses would concentrate on saving the babies while, he, the doctor would concentrate more on my mother if there was to be a choice. Well fortunately no choice had to be made as we all did well. My sister spent 4 weeks in an incubator and I was there 5 weeks. I wish I could have met the OB but never did

It should be noted his name was Dr. J E. MIRACLE. 😀

Is This A Hate or Serial Killer Crime?!
shelbythuylinh3 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When a hotshot doctor is murdered and decapitated with no clothes on. And that a second murder that has also occurred as it keeps over in the team to scramble.

Maggie and OA of course leads the case and that they must decide if it is something to do with a hate crime or a serial killer they are dealing with.

Second person killed is that over is a military officer. And how that needing to keep on a open mind on it.

On a personal note, Stuart is worried about Nina and their baby and despite no longer being a couple, they agree to co-parent their soon to be baby but complications arise.

A lot has to do with the recent crossover in the FBI universe where Nina stupidly went on assignment and doing so nearly got herself and her baby with Stuart's killed. Now Stuart must decide whom to save, either the baby or Nina.

Glad they have toned down Stuart a bit. Even though he is still my very LEAST favorite.

How you set up the premise matters
laue-1064529 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So you have 3 FBI agents with guns against a suspect with a gun. Instead of spreading out the 3 agents bunches up so the suspect can shoot at them making them take cover and not able to return fire. All to set up the final scene. They make FBI agents looks like idiots.

The writing on this series have been going down hill. It seems that all they want to do is to set up chase scenes to get cheap thrills. Instead of getting close to a suspect before yelling FBI, they yell across the street so they can chase them half way down the block before loosing them. Is it really necessary to make well trained agents look like idiots.

Getting same-y now...
sjspode12 January 2024
This season has had too many instances where one of the main characters has been going through something in their personal lives that is directly reflected by the circumstances of the cases that they and the team are investigating at the same time.

This time it was health issues around the pregnancy of Scola and Nina, resulting in Stuart having to make a potential life and death decision, at the same time the team are chasing a murderer with a God Complex who believes the power of life and death is theirs to decide.

It's lazy writing to keep using this device, and to be honest in this instance takes away from the Scola / Nina story and some good emotional acting from these two actors.

Here's hoping this trope ends with the conclusion of this season.

Doesn't make sense
hezronshamala11 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At the court scene why would OA call the suspect from like 2 floor up enabling the suspect to escape plus i thought they had all exits covered?

No explanation as to why the killers takes victims skins. How did the killer move the bodies to and fro different sites without being captured on any cctv?

There alot of articles from the newspaper clippings but only two victims?

For a season finale id say it lacks the suspense and intrigue. I think over the years the writers have just became lazy and they just put seasons out there to complete the season.

This is used to be a good show that i followed ever since the first season. Hate to see things go downhill.

Writing is not realistic
michaelmo-6804016 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge fan of the show and will watch it regardless of the crappy writing in this episode. With that being said, this episode was lacking in every way especially for a season finale.

Why would OA yell out the criminal's name from 2 floors above? How did the criminal get a hold of a cop's gun and yet there were no other cops around to stop him? Wasn't the premises secured by law enforcement already?

For such an important case, where did all the other fbi and cops go? Why aren't they joining the chase in the nyc streets when the criminal gets out?

At the cemetery, why are there only 3 agents pursuing the suspect? In what universe would there not be dozens of backup agents/cops joining the search especially since it's pitch black?

Why are they making the fbi look like dumb novices?

I don't always require the writing to be completely realistic but this set up had me asking these questions the entire episode.

I loved the side story and ending with scola and Nina but the rest of the episode felt like something wasn't right on the set and they just had to throw something together last minute.

So many errors and just silly dialog
saemlb27 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Where to begin. The talk of inducing labor when a baby's heart rate is too slow is so bad. They would do a C-Section, which they mentioned, but in conjunction with 'inducing labor'. Please do at least a little research if you are going to write for television. The manufactured drama is just so tiresome.

Now lets talk a little about how firearms work. When a semi-auto handgun fires the last round, the slide locks back. The trigger is at that point no used for anything. It makes no noise and has no function. Yet writers and directors don't seem to comprehend this well known fact. Instead they want the drama of the dry fire noise from a revolver. Click, click, click. That is the sound a revolver makes when it is fired on either an empty chamber or a round that has already been fired. In this episode, the 'bad guy' shoots off a bunch or rounds then the gun makes clicking noises, yet the slide does not lock open. The outright stupidity of the writing / directing is so apparent. There are actual books you can buy that discuss how guns, rifles, shotguns, etc. Work written just for screenwriters. Please use them so you don't come off as being completely stupid.

An inglorious end to this poor series
ak202011 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Other reviewers have pointed out many of nonsensical actions (or inactions) by the FBI in this last episode of the series - which, in my opinion was the worst of a long run of poor episodes.

The writer(s) and director(s) should have their contracts terminated for their poor screenplays and direction. This story was so poor they had to pad it out with unnecessary chases - as mentioned by other reviewers) and a lack of imagination. As examples, why was the courthouse not surrounded by SWAT, why didn't they use a helicopter (or drones) in the cemetery to help the team, why did Maggie go into the crypt on her own to seek out the culprit?

And, why oh why did they have to lengthen the episode with the hospital emergency side story? The actual FBI story in this episode was only about 30 minutes.

Please get some new writers for any future series.
