An opium intoxicated Pip accompanies Jaggers to an underground party, where he his worst fears come true, and he is once again united with Compeyson, and in a brief encounter Compeyson explains that Pip has something that he wants.
What a thoroughly depressing and tedious penult episode this was, it is now so far off the beaten track that it's almost made up.
We're almost at point zero, zero being the clash of Compeyson and Magwitch, with Pip somehow caught up in the middle of their eternal feud.
Once again I will praise the acting and visuals, but I take issue with two things, firstly, the orgy scene, did I miss something in the translation, and secondly, why is it all so disjointed, it moves from one sequence to the next, without explanation, it just doesn't flow at all.
4/10.
