Exciting Episode
imacarolinian31 December 2022
Wow! This was an exciting episode. It was suspenseful, adventurous, and so much fun to watch. My family loved it. In fact, we liked it so much, we watched it twice. Leeli is so cute, smart and fearless. Janner is such a good big brother. And he's such a good kid. I read in another review someone left, that Jenner was "earnest". I thought that was a perfect description of him. And Tink makes us laugh and smile. He is lots of fun. I do enjoy his character. Each of the children are special, and endearing. We are already falling in love with all the characters. The story is now coming together, and it's building, as is the anticipation for what is coming next. We can't wait for episode 4. Our thanks to everyone involved in the making of this very special series. Bravo!!!!!!

S1:E3 Meticulous Notes for the Wingfeather Team
aerwiararchives1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It was mentioned that the Wingfeather Team could, at a later date, go back and touch up previous episodes of the show and fix some errors. Here are some standout ones I found to make that process easier! These did not ruin the experience for me, but I think this might be helpful to the team! Thanks again, Elijah Elliott (Aerwiar Archives)

  • When Zouzab says the line "Tink hid plumyumminess!" it is barely audible, and should be slightly louder before fading.

  • The squeeblin had very little shadow effect applied, despite standing in the darkness of the forest. In general, it was too white for the surrounding scene, and felt out of place.

  • In the running shot at 17:31, Janner's expression is oddly static and the running in general seems slightly slow while the camera movement is too smooth.

Great episode!

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show, and this particular episode left me breathless! I wish the had stayed closer to the story of the books, but I understand that they are trying to make it a well-paced story while still fitting the whole of book 1 into 6 episodes. I also felt as though the relationship between Janner and Sara Cobbler was overly focused on, and I wish that they had made their relationship more on the side of "good friends". Some awkwardness would be fine, and very paralell to the books, but... there were just a lot of akward moments between them in these first 3 episodes.

Oh, and the last part of the episode... stunning! It didn't stay perfectly close to the books, but I loved the changes! And I have so many questions! I've read the books several times, but this series has been a fresh new expirience for me. I can't wait to see episode 4!

Wonderful!

I can't believe how amazing each episode is! Yes, there are mistakes. The squeeblin didn't look right. And yes there are changes. But I can understand the changes. Especially with Sara Cobbler. It is a bit weird about how the jewels come into play, but I trust Chris, Andrew, and Douglas to smooth everything out.

Peet is so hilarious 😂 Tink is great! Leeli's perfect! Janner (non-spoiler review but 😭)

The voice acting continues to be spot-on! The music is phenomenal (as always). The effects and animation are gorgeous! Every frame is dripping with beauty and love.

I cannot wait for episode four!

Evil is so petty.
moviemind-534812 April 2023
Slarb is genuinelyy favorite character in this entire episode. Not because he's likeable or anything like that. Quite the contrary. This is actually his most despicable episode. But he provides such a truthful depiction of the sheer vindictive pettiness of evil that I can't help but appreciate this addition to his character. That sense of personal, down-to-earth evil that takes pleasure in doing a deeply wicked thing just because it will hurt someone else wasn't really present in his character in the book and the fact that they've fleshed him out so well for the series has made him one of my favorite minor villains in all of children's fiction.
