I guess, in retrospect, the theme was obvious, given Dan has a daughter and much of Alex's story ended up being about the impact of her dysfunctional father had on her. But dang, Ellen went dark and she is her father's daughter.
The show nicely resolves the whole story with a satisfactory explanation for Alex's fate. The story does a decent job of setting up the killing and the aftermath seems to tie up loose ends on it. I won't give away who dunnit but it is satisfying.
The ending is quite good with a nicely seeded twist. All in all a very good ending to a solid thriller series that took the source material (movie) expanded it quite well while keeping the bones of the story. Acting was good throughout, story was tight with no obvious major plot holes. The structure of the story with the recontextualizing stuff was very interesting. Very solid series.
