Never Trust An Owl...Or Your Own Family...They're All Gaslighting You.
meddlecore18 May 2023
Caviar is a weird mockumentary-horror, that combines elements of found footage, mock social media posts, and deep fake audio clips of real politicians (with videos featuring professional lookalikes), to fashion a bizarre conspiracy about a "missing" activist, aliens, and owls...or something like that.

It's kind of hard to follow exactly what is going on in the rest of the film, to be honest.

But the plot revolves around a left-leaning family being drawn deep down the rabbit hole of a right wing conspiracy.

Which acts to both blend and blur the lines between the two dichotomies.

It plays off a series of tropes present in mediums particularly exploited by the fringe extremes of the internet.

Things like youtube series, vodcasts, and podcasts.

All of which culminates with an absurd story about the nefarious intentions of owls - who may or may not be aliens and/or demons from another dimension or planet.

Either way...whatever it's about...it's a convoluted mess.

Albeit, by design.

Because even when it's over...you still aren't sure what the hell it was ever about.

Other than it has something to do with a bad trip...or mkultra...or child sacrifice...or some combination of the three, perhaps.

Who the hell knows.

Just embrace the weirdness.

And roll with it.

Cause none of it makes any sense.

It's just a ride.

Just because you can make a movie doesn't mean you should.

Warning: Spoilers
I rarely write reviews but honestly I needed to warn people about this film. Oh good grief it is BAD.. A few minutes in the lead female is fake crying and that should have stopped me in my tracks, the amount of mascara smearing made me laugh out loud, some truly horrendous acting. It just doesn't get any better, it stratd bad and stays right there.

If you do take a chance on it then hopefully by the time the stop motion owl with laser eyes makes an appearance you will have had enough and stop before your brain turns to rotting mush.

If you were involved in making this 'film' then honestly I hope you never work in the industry again. Get a 9 to 5 job and refrain from trying to entertain people. You should be very ashamed.

Exoteric and Esoteric - Weaving Spiders
stickhero15 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
You may not easily get the meaning because it is both Exoteric and Esoteric.

About conspiracy theories - Disasters are used as sacrifices to appease the gods, kidnapping of children (orphans), missing children who are used for sacrifices, covid was a means of transferring wealth, wars, NGOs are not good. The elites referring to themselves as "the worthy" are all in it - Something to do with the Bohemian Grove and MKUltra, Epstein's temple.

COVID (a hecatomb) enabled the largest transfer of wealth in history, spawned new opportunities for surveillance and mind control (It claims that all these leads to sacrificing people)

The worthy use the sacrifices to ascend to godhood.

It links aliens to owls - owls are a means of communication between the underworld, our world, and the spiritual world.

It features deepfakes of figures like Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Antony Fauci, George W. Bush.

It mentions World Economic Forum, Aliens, UFOs, UFP, worshipping of owls.

There are beings/technology that can be used to shape human perception, sieve or erase one's memories.

I had to look up a lot of stuff and find its meaning etc.

Truly unique and terrifying
jackfountain-0239017 May 2023
It was honestly one of the most effective pieces of horror I've seen, it really masterfully outlined the terror of deepfakes and how seeking the truth is used against people to warp their perception of reality. The suspense was masterful and the payout was of top tier fever dream quality, with my alarm bells and uncanny valley going off the entire time in my head. I was asking questions the whole movie, most of which were left to speculation, which added to the impact of the film and left me seriously questioning whether I had just watched a piece of trauma induced brainwashing or a just super effective piece of satirical horror, but learning how small the movie is and how low the ratings are put that questioning to rest. Wonderful job, I hope they keep making movies and can't wait to see what they do in the future. It's amazing what can be accomplished on such a low budget. I want to go into a deep-dive analysis of it but I'm honestly scared to watch it again. I can see how the movie wouldn't be for everyone, but that's okay because I think the people who it is for can really enjoy and appreciate the creativity, symbolism, message, and necessarily muddy story of this work of cinematic art.

Yes, is a small budget movie, but...

The director who is also the writer of this film, knows this very well. But, and here's the big BUT, the idea is key in this film, and it really is a great idea! Try watching this film regardless of its budget, just focus on the basic idea, the narrative, and you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

I am not friends with any of the people involved in this film and have no personal interest in promoting it (you can check my profile and activity on imdb) it's just my honest opinion. The actors are not famous, they are semi-professionals so to speak, but in my opinion, they put passion, now let's face it, the people involved in the film they don't expect to get rich or famous... My opinion is that if the producer and director had a real budget things would have been different.

And what I liked more about this movie, is the fact that we can't know if the director really wants to convey a message or is parodying certain things... So, you can say what you want, but I liked the idea.
