Decent indie drama with a stellar cast.

I didn't really know anything about this movie before I went into this movie and I think that was to my benefit, the plot summary IMO would have spoiled it a bit for me as it all takes a while to unfold.

To put it short it's about a guy who's more or less a loser who falls for the rich pretty girl who likes to live on the edge of life which will cause serious consequences for the both of them.

It doesn't really feel like a natural progress at times, characters seem to just be going with the flow a little too easy but the stellar acting from Shiloh Fernandez and Haley Bennet (who reminds me a bit of Jennifer Lawrence) and the co-stars make the movie still work.

It starts out with a saying that it's based on a true story, how much is true though I really don't know, it's set in the 80's so I imagine that that when the true story occurred.

If you're looking for a gripping story that will keep you on the edge of your seat than perhaps this is the wrong movie, but if you want to watch a melancholic indie drama then this will do.
