"Call me a Jew" is a not very convincing movie about an interesting topic

I am very sorry to conclude that this has been the worst film on the Holocaust I have seen in the last few years. The film is supposed to deal with the attitude of the Austrian people towards the Jews during and after the Holocaust, and with the fate of Austrian Jewry. The film does not tell us much more than what has been known about this topic in general about other European countries. The documentary consists of a endless list of interviews, with people who are telling over and over again the old and sad stories of suffering we have been hearing for tens of years from Holocaust survivors. Moreover it is not always clear who is being interviewed Israeli Jews, or Austrian Jews or non-Jews in Austria. Horrifying images of the Holocaust, like for example piles of body's of dead camp-inmates are used as inserts in a unnatural way and turns the film sometimes into a propaganda movie. Many times returning is the scene of football playing kids in Austria and in Israel. It does not become clear what those kids are doing in the movie and why these scenes are repeated. Concluding I would say, that "Call me a Jew" is an attempt to make a movie about a interesting topic. However the many interviews and scenes filmed in Austria and Israel are put together in an unconvincing way and does not make those pieces into a movie. A ten minutes version of this long and boring film might be suitable to be broadcasted in a news-programme on TV on Holocaust-day.
