The core of Dear Edward is the plane crash, and from there, we were introduced to friends and family members of those who died in the crash. This series has a tragic and gripping premise, but the overload of characters often takes away from the sentiment. If you are like us, it can be difficult to keep up with the different characters, but Dear Edward has taken this route and now has to run with it. Maybe they will change the course of action in future seasons if the series gets renewed. Edward has our sympathy after Episode 8, as his happiness is quickly snatched away. Edward is a young boy who deserves all the happiness in the world, but the series is pushing him to his breaking point in Dear Edward Episode 8. At the end of the episode, he pushes the piano down the stairs due to several reasons, including Mahira cutting all contact with him and losing Shay as a friend. Edward is the main character in Dear Edward, but his storyline is overshadowed by Dee Dee's. Dee Dee has had a lot to figure out after her husband's passing, living a lie and a separate life in LA away from her family. Adriana and Kojo are nearing the end of their tether and are hoping for a big airport moment where Adriana runs away to Ghana with Kojo or he stays back in America for her. Their future is uncertain, but it is better than all the other romantic relationships in Dear Edward. Sam and Vernon have been exchanging flirtatious texts and pictures, but Sam's wife has read them. Dear Edward Episode 9 will shed more light on this, and possibly have a major confrontation between Sam and his wife over how long he can keep this up. Taylor Schilling has done an exceptional job playing Lacey, who is coming into her own after all these episodes. We are looking forward to seeing her blossom more in the next episodes, but she will be getting a call from the school after Edward's piano fiasco. Emotional rollercoasters are a great way to experience Dear Edward. Sam continues to take care of his daughter and sends a shirtless photo to Vernon, but his wife sees it and is devastated. Edward is happy that his piano got fixed, but decides to correct other things in his life. He apologizes to Shay for neglecting her before, but she does not forgive him. Despite his plea, she does not let things go back to the way they were between them. Edward is devastated by this loss of friendship and throws the piano from their school's music room down the stairs.
