Fairly generic romantic comedy...

Now, I am not overly familiar with Filipino cinema, as I rarely happen to stumble upon movies from that part of the world. So as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch "The Entitled", of course I did so.

Sure, I didn't know what to expect from writer Noreen Capili and director Theodore Boborol, so they had every opportunity to entertain and bedazzle me with "The Entitled".

And I will say that this was certainly a watchable movie, but as romantic comedies go then it was actually a rather generic movie. But hey, if you are a fan of rom-coms then you are definitely going to get a blast out of this 2022 movie. However, it should be said that this is a very predictable storyline. Yeah, I found it entertaining enough, but it just wasn't an outstanding romantic comedy, and I doubt that this is a movie I will be returning to a second time.

There were some funny moments throughout the course of the storyline, and I had a couple of genuine laughs here and there, so that counted for something.

Now, I am by no means familiar with Filipino talents, but the cast in the movie did perform well enough, especially the lead actress Alex Gonzaga (playing Belinda).

All in all, then "The Entitled" was a fair enough movie.

My rating of "The Entitled" lands on a five out of ten stars.

OVERRATED SINCE IT'S NUMBER 1 ON NETFLIX.

If you're used to Alex Gonzaga's behavior, you will definitely not see her acting skill as "cringe". I rated it as 5, since her co-actors seems uncomfortable doing the scenes? I know that most of the cast have a lot of experience being an actor but here in this movie they seem like a rookie in acting because it's bad! Really bad, especially the acting skill of JC De Vera, maybe it's been a long time since he became a cast of a movie or drama. JC's acting skill is not natural, you can see that he's just literally forcing himself to act? THE WHOLE CAST IS A FLOP, AND THE STORY IS GARBAGE.

Honest Review

I recently watched the movie and here are some things that I noticed:

1. The plot was very predictable.

2. Editing was great but they forgot to cut something in the mid part and it ruined the quality of the movie.

3. I can't deny, I laughed so hard on some scenes. But that's it.

4. Explaining how she's been missing for a long period of time is only justifyable if they make part 2, but I doubt because of the reviews.

5. There's an antagonist but they didn't show how they resolved the issue. Plus, revealing it in a short period of time and then not doing anything after that was a bad decision.

6. Not satisfied with the ending. I mean, it's super cringy.

7. Not all the so called "poor" people acts like that. It's not cringy knowing that Alex Gonzaga was the actress but the idea of it tells everything.

As I said, I laughed but I didn't enjoy watching it. I don't recommend watching it if you are not a fan of swearing and weird acting. And it's not for children so don't let them watch it.

Story is heading... nowhere

This show literally depicts an out of touch narrative about the social class. Does coming from the lower class mean being ill-mannered/poorly behaved?

There were opportunities to discuss these concepts (like low-salary wages) but it was a miss.

Humor is unhinged too. They tried so hard to make it funny but its so cringe due to how bad the acting was.

The overdramatic acting of the actress is cringeworthy. Two minutes in and i cannot tolerate that unbelievable acting. No one in todays world would act like that And what is it with the fake pimples. You can be poor without pimples too.

1. Lead actress - acting is very bad. Just like someone said, its cringeworthy. You will feel annoyed of her acting.

2 story is depictable. Filipino rom com movies has no originality. It keeps repeating.

3. at 1:34:31 and 1:34:04 scenes repeated. Fail editing

4. They didnt explain why she grew up poor.

If there is a negative rating, I could have rate this lower.

• The story line is recycled, boring and stupid
• The acting and delivery of lines are cringy most of the time
• The jokes are not funny at all. Simply "PILIT"

Poor people were stereotyped as stupid and ill-mannered. Those who cant speak proper English were being belittled and humiliated with this kind of comedy.

Most Filipinos are shifting to Korean or western movies because of this kind. No improvement since 2000s. Comedy movies should step up and stop using recycled jokes. Audience deserve more. Enough of trashy movies.

Fanatics are the main reason why the "PWEDE NA TO" system exists in the industry. So improvement is IMPOSSIBLE.

Stop investing too much to actors/artists and start hiring essential people that could help improve the quality of your products. Unique ideas are needed.

Snowflakes, "reklamador" and the disappointed exist to bring awareness to the industry.

Suggestion to Netflix, i hope they could make an option to disable or hide annoying movie titles or series; and disable/enable prompting local trends.

How disrespectful ,, derogatory , insulting to people who work so hard to make everyone of us educated slightly privileged people's lives comfortable.. This is a Filipino movie... no wonder Imelda Marcos had 3000 shoes.. Tolerating artists directors like this would make one an insane ,,,an insane shopaholic addicted superficial person. Stupid is an understatement... They could have done a cute sophisticated Pygmalion type movie. Instead they made a laughing stock of Filipinos The actors were good the story had potential ... some of the dialogues were absolute crap.

Not only is this movie a waste of your time, it has no substance, just like the person who gave a review of this 10/10, they can both(the reviewer and alex gonzaga) should be flushed down the toilet.

I repeat, do not watch this movie, better yet Boycott this so called airhead of an actress who's riding on the popularity of her slightly better "has been" sister.

Very entertaining Asian rom com with touches of Farrelly

This is a romantic comedy with a time worn plot but Gonzaga shines and is both funny and charming. There are several good performances, and genuine laughs and a bit of gross humor at times as well. Still, laugh out loud enjoyable comedic moments here, driven by a strong lead.

No wonder why nobody's watching Filipino Movies.

The story is very cliché. Actually, the story is the same as the movies released in the 90s. Nothing's changed! It hurts my brain watching this movie. Always basing their characters from stereotypes. Once you're poor means you're ugly and ill-mannered.

Seriously, Filipino film makers should upgrade their craft. We want to watch movies that has actually sense in it. This is just garbage.

Most of the lines is a bit lost on translation so it

lost its comedic value for the english people.

You guys can enjoy the movie if you watch the

main actress vlog as youll see a bit of

similarities on how he act in real life instead of

her just playing a role and being cringe.

I normally dont watch something that 1-3ratings on imdb but because i ddnt see the rating before i watch this i enjoy it.

just being ourselves really is a better take on life instead of pushing yourself to become something what the world want you to look like.

20 mins into the movie and I rushed to rate it 1 star. It's been years since I watched a trash movie.. This movie is not only trash but so bad that at one point you'll want to slap each and everybody related to the movie. Who the F makes movie like this nowadays.. Oh lord! So much is exaggerated.. Who makes scripts like this? Why are they even allowed to? Who are these stupid actors? I'm not watching another Filipino movie for the next 2-3 years.

The acting and editing is cringeworthy and not good. There was a random clip on the start of the movie, it was bad editing. One of the worst Philippines movie I've watched. The storyline is weird. Some script and writings are bad. Some of the main actors have somewhat of a bad acting. The acting is unrealistic. The story and some editing is weird. I still cant believe that this is currently no.1 on Netflix Ph. Super dissapointed.

Its 2022 and the plot is still 90s. Super corny and trashy movie. Just go to Alex's vlog and save your 2hour time - just same trashiness. Very predictable, I can't even finish the movie.

Is the main character mentally disabled and poor? Is that supposed to be funny? It seems offensive to clown those who have legit mental disabilities if the character is just making a parody of it. I couldn't finish it. Belinda appeared to suffer from some type of developmental disorder and it just didn't seem right to laugh at it.

The acting skills and prowess of lead actress,Alex Gonzaga,reminds me of US actress Anna Farris. This movie's humor is similar to movies like What's Your Number?, Housebunny, and Date Movie. This film also showcases beautiful Philippine landscape/scenery. The writing (script) is not bad at all. Is this film worth watching on Netflix? Yes. Better if you watch with English audio and subs.

A crass girl who came from a poor environment was a lost daughter of a hotel tycoon. She was forced to act and talk like a millionaire's daughter but unfortunately old habits just don't die right away.

It's a good thing I was watching this movie alone. You will just cringe at all the curse and uncouth words coming out of the mouth of Belinda (Alex Gonzaga). This is not something that you would watch with your family. In the whole movie Belinda keeps on touching or scratching her crotch. I guess if that was a portrayal of how uncouth or bastos a person coming from a low life I guess Alex portrayed it well but not for public consumption. Yes, we get it but does it really need to be exaggerated? Even kanto words for masturbating was being repeated over and over again.

The story is predictable, no substance, trying hard to be a rom com but the development of the characters were haphazzard. In the next scene the teenage half sister who hated Belinda to hell suddenly becomes nice to her. Putting in Melay who is supposed to add to the comedy, apparently felt short on her role. Bakya was more like it. Even the father lacked acting skills. He was mono-emotional if there was such a word.

Well this is how Filipino movies stagnate. Same banana. Apparently it has only a relatable crowd to entertain.

The movie failed to show a decent storyline that technically every audience needs. It left me questioning things at the end of the movie. Belinda left her dad as she was accused of stealing money from the company. Also we saw Matilda and Jacob being an ally, for what? What is their goal?

Then the dad came to visit her daughter and he mentioned the problem was fixed. How? What happen to the suppose to be antagonist of the story? (cliché younger wife antagonist).

Nevermind, the movie did not stated how Belinda, the daughter of a rich man, ended up in the stereotypical slums. Horrible movie, I wish I did not watch.

Worst acting. PLEASE STOP.

Ugh. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop making films like this to sell for the world to see on Netflix. It is wrong on so many levels because it degrades Philippine cinema.
