Good episode but still has issues.
Saving2125 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was really an interesting episode, the Callen story continued to take centre stage while the other stories were back burner. The Callen story with Katia obsession and his upbringing is getting more and more interesting, I like the all KGB CIA story. As always Cold War stories are great story to tell. It's good to have Nate back ,hope he will stay more.

But the episode still has faults, one was the second story with the missing Agent I don't know what was the deal? It felt to me the writer decided to focus on Callen and wrote the second story to fill the episode. It wasn't needed actually. I don't care about Fatima and Roundtree I find them boring and filter to main cast.they could just give up on that storyline and write longer the Deeks&kensi talk about adopting that is another good story. Also add scenes with Sam kensi and Deeks talking about Callen. That one line between Sam&Kensi was bad, these guys were so close, they would check at each other, sam wouldn't just call Callen He will be there for him forcing Callen to work with him and Nate. The show is too much Fragmented, we are not in COVID world anymore, the cast can be in one scene like other tv shows doing. It hurt the episode in the end.

Genesis

Warning: Spoilers
Jere Burns has played a lot of weird characters over the years, so they definitely got the casting right for the madman who was involved in Callen's past. Not sure how long I want this story arc to go on, but at least the moments were entertaining here tonight.

As far as the Nate character is concerned, definitely not excited to see him back in the fold. I did not mind him early on in the television show's run, but I feel like he became expendable fairly quickly and they made the right move taking him out of the mix. Not much of a need to bring him back to handle matters associated with the still standing cast.

Great to see Peter Cambor back as Nate in this episode!
straker213 June 2022
Nate is one of my favorite NCIS LA characters, played by the terrific Peter Cambor. His appearances on the series are always a big highlight for me. This episode really uses his character well with some interesting moments and it also features a very sinister appearance by the actor who played Jesse Pinkman's group therapy leader on Breaking Bad. His role here is very unnerving indeed and there are links to Callen's past. Over all, Genesis is a compelling episode and well worth watching.

Okay, episode... Guest Star
JasonSterling2927 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I hope they don't waste Jere Burns with subpar episodes/writing/directing because I've seen him in Burn Notice as Anson Fullerton and he does make a good villain.

Other reviews have pointed out that Callen's backstory has become tiresome. I haven't given it much thought but Jere Burns's character and Hetty can bring this story to a good conclusion.

Time to end the 10 Yr Callen Childhood loop
doug2go25 April 2022
This was a good show except for the 10 year continuing ad nauseum Callen childhood loop - They have become distracting , annoying and unnecessary - I also wasn't thrilled with the conclusion to the main story line letting Iranian secret Service operatives lose to do who knows what for political reasons - send them back to Iran at least but just to turn them lose - Really.

This series needs fixing soon.

Quit with the damn callen backstories!!
broncoboy-3754625 April 2022
Do they think callen is the only person to have a past? It's callen this callen that like really!!!

Other then the callen part it was a good episode that's why I gave it a 5! It would be a 8 if they didn't do the callen story every week.

Is NCIS LA trying to corrupt Muslim girls?
dusadomovine25 April 2022
In Islam, the head-covering worn by women is a symbol of modesty and humility. Fatima's extravagant and ever larger head-coverings are far from modest and humble. The tight jeans - flaunting her sexuality also is far from modest and humble. Is Hollywood trying to slowly corrupt Muslim girls?
