A unique perspective on the American Dream.
olicermunoz29 April 2011
The Papelero is a social commentary on how elitism and racism is practiced in today's society. The story is told in the course of one day, sunrise to sunset.

Family, tradition, loyalty, races, social classes, are all addressed in this one short film. Bernardo has to prove his love for the American Dream and if it's worth dying for.

This is a beautifully shot film. I have never seen an independent short film transition so well. The Director is master story teller who very creatively transitioned the story from the rich part of town to the poor part of town.

Fortunately for me, I never group up in the ghetto, but without giving too much away, I really routed for Bernardo and wanted him to come out on top.
