A beautifully done documentary about the history of the AFL and its impact on professional football. The AFL was looked upon as a semi-pro league by the NFL, until the AFL began an all out assault on signing the top collegiate football players during the 1960's like Billy Cannon and Joe Namath. Eventually the conservative NFL realized the AFL wasn't a second rate league. On January 15, 1967 the champions of the NFL and AFL would go head to head in the Los Angeles Coliseum and it would be known as the Super Bowl. Pro football would never be the same afterwards. Finally several years later, both leagues would merge into two separate conferences, NFC and AFC thus forming the NFL as we know it today.
