Yet another plot whose violence is all the result of America's Drug War
quass-651743 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Like the majority of episodes of Republic of Doyle, all the violence in this episode was created out of whole cloth by America's Drug War Sharia. Had America not begun criminalizing plants back in 1914 in violation of natural law, Republic of Doyle (and countless shows like it) could not exist. In this case, Jake and author Garrison Steele attempt to clear MMA fighter Vince Bragg of murder charges for which he's taking the fall, not realizing that the powers-that-be are selling plant medicines (ooh, I mean they're selling "drugs," of course). One wonders how many shows like this would be left if police could only arrest people for actually behaving badly, rather than for the pre-crime of possessing substances of which racist politicians disapprove.
