Sex & Nudity
-
- A man yells to the group "Get back, if were caught that thing will go tits up."
Violence & Gore
-
- Players use pistols, knives, machine guns, rifles, and rocket launchers to kill enemy forces in frenetic combat. Enemies grunt or scream in pain when hit; bodies are sometimes flung into the air when struck by explosives. Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and blood spray effects.
- Players can also blow up enemies with grenades or by shooting pumps at a gas station.
- It's possible to snipe enemies in the head from great distances.
- Dead characters are sometimes depicted lying in pools of blood or in mass graves.
- One cutscene depicts civilian characters getting shot in the background.
- Blood splatters out of human enemies.
- There are many scenes depicting mass deaths, executions, and chaotic moments that might be upsetting.
- Typical of the genre, the player-controlled character is armed with a knife and, as he progresses through the game, he gains access to a variety of firearms (pistols, machine-guns, shot guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles) and other weapons, such as rocket-propelled grenades and C4 plastic explosives.
- Shooting or stabbing North Korean and 'survivalist' opponents produces blood spurts but at no time is there any discernible injury detail.
- Moreover, kills are invariably quick and clean.
- It is impossible to mutilate fallen opponents or to otherwise inflict any form of post-mortem damage.
- Pools of blood form on the ground from time to time but dead enemy corpses simply vanish from the screen after a few seconds.
- In one cut scene at the very beginning of the game, a distressed child is seen crying as his parents are executed by North Korean soldiers but the sequence includes little in terms of blood or injury detail.
- In one mission, the player-controlled character must hide amongst corpses in a mass grave but the imagery is not particularly gruesome.
- The same can be said for the images of hanging North Korean corpses and the occasional sight of severed heads on poles and torsos impaled on stakes.
- Although the majority of the game comprises dynamic combat action, respite is offered from time to time in the form of stealth, helicopter flying, and Humvee driving missions.
Profanity
-
- Numerous uses of "fuck" throughout. You'll also hear very frequent uses of "shit," "ass," "damn," and "goddamn" respectively.
- Name calling (i.e. "Sons-of-bitches," "asshole," "fucker," "bastard," "bitch," and "motherfucker").
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- A character describes his success and saying how another character can 'set you up' and proving this by showing how 'he is smoking American cigarettes'.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- The fighting can be involving at points but is very exciting.
- Connor tells a starving boy to "piss off" who is asking him for food.
- We see dead bodies being thrown into a ditch, quite emotional.
- As it is a war game, some depictions can be frightening to some.
- There are many disturbing urban-war related scenes, such as a child witnessing his parents being shot, people executed on the street, and a truck slamming into someone.
- In a mission, KPA soldiers are shown on fire and in agony. the player has a choice of Euthanasia (mercy killing of the enemy) or let them suffer.
- Rated R for strong bloody violence and language.
