Turner attempts to get the better of Mrs. Russell by sabotaging her huge dinner party with the Duke. She plants a cook whose job it is to ruin the meal. Fortunately for Mrs. Russell, the guy is caught be a man who used to be a servant. In other important events, Peggy finally comes to realize that the South and New York are different milieus. She has been walking in the sunshine not knowing the realities of her race. Finally, we have the wedding which comes close to not happening. There is a rather touching scene at the conclusion of this episode. It is nicely done when the characters step back for a moment and act as real human beings.
