Agree: terrible story
macrif-922-54533312 February 2014
Terrible script, not at all integrated or tight; horribly miscast, especially the lead lady; very poorly edited (example: bar scene with drunken lady & friends).

Too bad, story could have been more plausible if less romantic and more humorous. Episodic to say the least.

The Star: Pelee Island!!!! Beautiful scenes, too few, could have had more shots of the island, houses and flora and fauna.

In many ways a typical Canadian film.

Poor writing, poor directing, somnambulant action, mediocre acting (lousy in this case). It could have been a well photographed and humorous story: much could have been of the idea of sex on the grapes. Instead. we got a dirge on lack of love.

Terrible

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely atrocious writing, storyline, directing, acting, and editing. The only thing missing from this train-wreck was the train.

Bridgette Love is seeking to inherit the Love Wine fortune, I guess. Apparently she needs to make love to a man in the vat full of grapes, as is the tradition.

So someone comes up with the brilliant idea to make it a contest, and every eligible bachelor in town lines up to court the comely Bridgette. Before long of course, she realizes she truly loves someone very close to her, who's too stupid or cowardly to step forward and confess his mutual love for her.

As for the terrible direction and editing, there is a scene nearly five minutes long where Bridgette's cousin proves her loose and slutty ways by grinding on every guy who buys her a shot. And just when you think it's over, nope she's still grinding and doing shots.

This film does nothing to commend Canadian cinema, and those responsible for this horrible piece of trash should be ashamed of themselves.

Somehow came across this movie on a hotel TV after a crazy night out. And holy hell is it horrible. Horrible acting, terrible script, awful writing. The list could on and on. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because this movie made me and my friends die of laughter. We watched it high on acid and man on man did it make the horrible parts even worse. When you burst out laughing after a serious moment in a film, you know its terrible. And to top it all off, we looked up the reviews on here and the first one, that describes that bar scene, literally made me pee my pants. That whole scene we were so confused as to when it was going to stop. Honestly can not get over how ridiculous this movie was. The fact that I have only ever saw it twice on TV shows you how horrible it is. But I highly recommend watching it. Especially on acid. You will be very, very confused and you will feel extremely awkward.

This is a Satire/ PARODY movie- it was awesome!

The people who are saying this was a terrible movie completely missed the point and the humour of this film.

It is a parody of every dating show/ romance movie out there.

It is the funniest movie you will ever see if you like tongue in cheek humour.

The characters are all tropes of romance films- the dumb but handsome farm labourer, the 'good' girl romantic heroine and the slutty cousin, and many more all played the parts hilariously.

The dialogue is very clever and always tongue in cheek... if you like zany humour and discussions on "how the love gets into the wine at Love Wine vineyards" Just watch it, you will enjoy.
