It's basically Battle Stage 3 but with voices, that's all, otherwise it's exactly the same, the races are barely cutted and the songs were placed randomly without trying to combine with what happens on screen, contrary to what the "Battle Stage Formula" establishes, standardized by "Battle Stage 1" (2002).
The soundtrack itself has good songs like "1234 Fire", "Fast & Furious Here We Go", "Yacchaa Boi", "Black Or White", etc, but the good ones are in the first half, the second half are all bad and not a single one is good, "Burn Me Up" for example, a total deception.
In summary, they did this only because none of the fans of the franchise liked Battle Stage 3, so much that when this new Initial D Battle Digest came out, nobody bought it and Avex had to sell it in street stalls, that was the funniest part.
