Dreadful writing. Dreadful acting.

Warning: Spoilers
I was sitting on the fence a bit with this series as it was preposterous but had potential. But this latest episode is just garbage. Vicky McClure, who should be a cert in any role, has seemed unconvincing from the start and is getting worse. This episode was so badly written I had to look and see if Mercurio was a writer on this show as it smacked of his 'who cares?' approach to plausibility/logic. You know, the one that destroyed the final few episodes of LOD.

Only award this show should win is for World's Worst Sister. I think the timer's fake so just you sit there while it hits zero. I'll be stood over here having a chat. Completely, unbelievably, absurdly, stupid!

I don't have any theories as to who the 'baddie' is, and worse, I don't really care.

Chronically stupid

Warning: Spoilers
Oh please, how ridiculous and predictable. Brother left along in car-none of the team brought equipment to Lana-nope she leaves him all alone knowing full well he will open the door. Break the window-no-climb to back of car-no. Stay beside him while team come to car-no. Beyond belief stupid. ITV are churning out stupid dramas and prob just want advertising revenue for trash. Sorry-but churn out rubbish and you take the flack.

Episode 4

Warning: Spoilers
Lana has suspicions about several people once she reckons that all the bombs have been planted by the Crusaders.

The main one is her colleague John Hudson who had a conveniently marked A-Z of London.

He was also drinking flaming Sambucas with her brother Billy at Nutkin's wake.

Then again Billy's actions had ransacking the halal butchers has upset Lana. He did not even turn up to his own birthday party.

You had Lana acting erratically like following Hudson. She had to be warned off by the undercover police officers who were also following him.

Billy learned at first hand that mixing with right wing terrorists was bad for your health. If big sister tells you to stay in your car then you should listen to her.

Of course it was rude of her to leave her brother alone in the car when she said she would be there for him.

It was weird that after her brother is blown up. Lana feels the need to have sex with that ultra nice man Karl. He simply is too good to be true.

The series so far lapses to being too witless. The writing is inane at times. Although Billy's predicament was tense but again it became absurd than shocking.

Poor.

Lana is worried when her brother goes missing, she moved ever closer to Karl.

Ouch, this wasn't good, the weakest episode of the series so far, this just didn't work. The issue here was the pacing, for a Jed Mecurio drama, focused on bombers, this was incredibly boring, it was agonisingly slow.

The Billy story wasn't good, in all honesty it was nonsense, so hard to believe that any of the events were possible.

That scene where Lana is following her dodgy colleague, I was reminded of a scene from Carry on Loving, where Charles Hawtrey follows Sid James in the most unconvincing manner.

The writing was disappointing here, some of the acting was patchy, Vicky McClure seems to be carrying it all herself.

The best thing was listening to the wonderful voice of Ralph Ineson, sadly he's wasted here.

A real effort, 4/10.

Sisterly love

Warning: Spoilers
It was poor to start with, but the clincher in idiocy was the scene with Billy in his car. Big sis Lana will save you. She's a professional, surrounded by her team, and they all just abandon Billy in the car. Lana runs from the car to get some stuff, and stands with her back to him, not even glancing over her shoulder.

Nobody stayed with Billy to explain what was happening. Bomb experts my arse!!

Rewinding a bit, Lana had suspicions that John was involved with the bombers. Why? Because he had a few drinks with Billy, whither broke the shop window of a halal butcher. Any way, she breaks into John's locker and finds a dog-eared AZ London map with the bomb sites marked. Not seen the last episode but that better not be real evidence. Any how, even after being warned off following John she decided to confront him in the police station in front of everyone. Completely out of character and foolish.

Just a stupid episode from start to finish.

Knowing nothing about bombs other than movies and TV wouldnt you just pull out the blasting caps and throw the explosive away? These personell all waste vast amounts of limited time telling people to be quiet and RUNNING far to tell someone there is 5 minutes on a timer then running back and complaining there isnt enough time to defuse it when all these bombs have blasting caps. Then these government people all have stupid relationships and constantly break their own foolish rules getting people killed. This appears to be a very poorly written show and what else cam you say...at least there is diversity among the cast. My how far England has degraded.
