Supposely, Jennette was sick recovering from having her tonsils taken out... so, under a schedule they probably had to do a rewrite and film one without her.
It worked but not really the same. Icarly needs all the principal characters to work and without Sam, the show is different and if Jennette did leave the show then the show can't work without the character of Sam. It is weird how one character can change a outcome of a show.
