Sydney To The Max is my favorite TV show and I'm very passionate about The Bible. As a result of the latter interest- and being a Lutheran, I go to church often. Therefore, you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that STTM would have episodes in a church setting.
Last week, there was an episode called My Cousin Lexi where Sydney's cousin from Georgia comes to stay for the summer. In this one, the family decides to attend church so Lexi feels more at home.
Since Sydney loves to sing, Lexi volunteers her to sing the following Sunday. Sydney doesn't have nerves about it, but she doesn't think she has a Gospel singing voice, and therefore tries to fake losing her voice.
The church aspects were the best parts for me. I was so amazed that Disney Channel dared to portray a church service. I know they have done it before, such as the movie Let It Shine(unseen by me), but I was still overjoyed.
The episode itself has an uplifting tone. For example, the hymns are feel good. The first week everyone sings This Little Light Of Mine, and the next week, Amazing Grace is sung.
That's what makes this episode the best for me. Not just because of the Christian aspect, but how feel good it is. No other episode of the series has done that for me in this way.
This is certainly my favorite episode so far, and I looking forward to these other church episodes. I watched this twice, once at 8:00 and once at 9:00 after Gabby Duran. :)
Note: Even if you are not a Christian, I think you would still enjoy this episode, since this episode is not about preaching, but simply the church lifestyle.
