I strongly disagree with the negative comments under this episode! The series develops in the same plane as any other season, even the third, which is not loved by many, the events and what is happening around. These are down-to-earth stories. Without wide scale about people, their characters and motives, so when you get frustrated with how the "cult" line is developing, it only shows how far removed from you the concept of the show itself.

A Bit Plodding
Hitchcoc28 July 2023
The cult thing could get old soon so hopefully delving into the meanings of the objects discovered will now be done. It was a good segue into parts of the story by showing how each object relates to them. Harry is nearly drowned and there is going to be a bit to pay for that. His actually going into training was a bit much, considering his relatively emotionless being. The lack of romance relating to Sonya is a bad sign. She is being supportive in her own way, but he barely acknowledges it. He is indeed a cold fish. The relationship between brother and sister is a bit hard to take. Also, who is that guy with the beard that is pulled from the water? We've seen him in other places.
Finally!

Pretty good episode! I like how character developments are coming together, ergo making more sense. I don't feel this is anything like the last season, and I am looking forward to the upcoming episodes!!
Side note I saved/binged the first 5 eps, as I feel that is a better way to watch The Sinner series.
The end!

Disappointed

Unfortunately this 4th season does not keep up with the others, too much esoteric bs. Really I keep trying but it's really hard too watch... There is no tension, no suspense, acting is cringe. And to top it all it's filled with caricatural clichés of true crime drama. Layers of ominous dark music won't save it.
Characters development are not realistic at all. Things that could be unveiled in one episode take 3 at least. I keep fast forwarding. It's all based on lies that could be told in real life. I wonder if this season was written by a different crew than previous ones. Too bad I really enjoyed 3 past seasons.
